It will probably be quite a while before I complete it, would you say it is your favourite MGS game?

I'll give you a review snippet.
I've beat the main story, I've done all the side missions, and am slowly making may way through the challenge levels in the post-game. It's my favorite game of the year so far, and one of the most refined open-world stealth sandbox games I have ever played. There's never just one way to win. It's great...
MGSV is NOT my favorite Metal Gear game. It may be my favorite to play, and most accessible, but overall, MGS has been a dish served to us as having the best stealth elements in the industry and a story that is extremely deep and incredibly cinematic.
For me, this game is the Resident Evil 4 of the series. It's a great way to end the series. As with RE4, I can pick it up anytime without context, and have a good time. It's big piece of beef jerky when the rest of the series has been the equivalent to a steak. Same for MGSV. The steak takes longer to cook and digest but is more satisfying, but the jerky retains the flavor and nutrition you still crave from a protein. Sometimes MGSV reminds me of what I fell in love with in the series but ultimately, this game doesn't stick to tradition for the series and it's a let down for the longtime fans that wouldn't mind a 20 minute cut-scene between all the helicopter riding and side ops.
Not that I care. I love video games, but they are a social thing for me anymore. MGSV doesn't really offer that, and it's a shame.

Thanks Blade, glad to hear I am not the only person with mix feels about the game. Yes it is most likely game of the year but there are a bunch of problems with it too. Looking forward to a full review from you. Thanks for clearing some things up.

If there are any more multiplayer focused games were all getting, the season is still young.

There is a more multiplayer focused game, I bought it just before I got MGSV.... Gears! I am really enjoying playing gears again but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone who has never played it to play online. You have truly missed the boat on this game if you havent played before it is really hard to get to grips with how the game plays.

Gears 1 online is a slaughterhouse... I do nothing but get rekt... Loved the campaign though...
Multiplayer games in the near future though? Battlefront I'd say

The Co-op campaign is one of the best I have ever played, playing it on insane is really challenging. Me and a friend are at a point where we can hold our own online but quite often we will come up against a clan or a really good team and they will just wipe the floor with us.

I co-opd the campaign back in 2007, but truly did "miss the boat" on multiplayer. College and Halo 3 were full-time back then.

Just knowing where the weapons spawn on each map is a big advantage. In gears "The weak are meat, and the strong do eat"

Just a quick update as I am about to visit my mum, its her birthday today. Bad News: The MGS 1 video was working out too long for one video. Good News: I am splitting what has spilled over into a new podcast, which means there is a little bit more editing to do but at least you get to see what I cut from the video.

You may have noticed I have been on a bit of a hiatus from the forum this week. Thanks Blade Runner 07 for updating the homepage. I had a project in work which meant I had to work from 8 in the morning until 9 at night. I was completely wrecked by the time I got home and I wasn't in the mind set from making videos. Any free time I had at night I just played Gears, I got some pretty good footage recorded while I was playing so after a few MGS video I will make a Gears video too. Hopefully I have a lot more free time next week.

Thanks for the update. Video game season is officially here so it's normal that regulars disappear once and awhile....
...and then, just like that, he was gone.
