Saw "monkey farm" in the thread title, so it felt appropriate to add this.

Now that I have some time: I can't tell if they are nitpicking or stupid. Some of this stuff yeah, they had a good point but other things...
God forbid we spend a bit more time with Deckard. God forbid we use any slow motion to show emotion. God forbid that voice over.
Deckard is more or less a blank slate character with out the voice over (crappy as it may be), slow motion is used brilliantly and rarely in this film and after Zorah and Leon get killed (almost kill Deckard) over the course of only 15 minutes what is the problem with alittle down time?
Oh and what is the problem with tits or anything humanly or morally wrong with this picture. Just about every main character in this picture is (spoilers) a freaking robot. It's reflective on how the humans are cold blooded killers that understand machines and humanity as something they can destroy, while the replicants are soul searching, otherwise peacful machines that don't understand humanity and the value of human life.
The whole point to the ending is that Deckard became the replicant as it should be, a machine, and Batty became human and vice versa. It is very complex and that is it's beauty.

The Zorah slow motion was great, I wouldnt say Deckard was a blank slate, after killing Zorah he talked about how he used to get "the shakes" I think he showed emotion quite a bit. Even if he is a " goddamned one-man slaughterhouse"

Yea you got a point there. The voice over just added so much more. I don't think it was intended though. That's why I watch The Final Cut the most.

I guess its different if you have read the book (or for me played the game) first. Even know both the book and the game are different from movie...

I read the book and the script and after all was said and done I'm just happy the movie turned out as well as it did. They changed and left out tons of stuff from the book. You know Tyrell, the one Batty killed was a replicant.

It was an idea they had when writing. In the script... lets see here.
Interesting idea. I think it would have changed alot of things had they filmed that and put it in.

Yes I wish more actors would say that. I think too many peple read into things too deeply and see it as a great mystery. They forget that people much like themselves created this universe. Don't worry about Blade Runner.

I do love Rutger Hauer... He's pretty badass Damn right. He's the main role in "Hobo With A Shotgun" as well. Maybe I should post the full movie. It's definetly a grade A Canadian Grindhouse movie.

Some of that sounds pretty similar to the initial critical reaction Blade Runner received when it came out. Most reviewers at the time thought the pacing sucked and/or they simply didn't understand it. Truly the mark of something ahead of its time if you ask me.
