Airstrikes and crippling of supply lines are basically the only viable tool we have to use against ISIS right now, as a "boots on the ground" approach just isn't going to get the job done. If we were fighting an enemy nation like China, Russia, or whoever the rules would be diffrent, but when fighting an enemy like Isis you have to keep in mind you aren't fighting a country, you're fighting against an ideology. A stone-age backwards ideology radicalized by Sunni Wahabbists and bankrolled by nefarious actors. They have no borders, no country, no navy, no real air force no real defined goals (other than establishing a caliphate). In a war of attrition they have the upper hand. The entire purpose of ISIS is to spread fear and terror throughout the world and promote their agenda in the name of Allah. With military Juggernauts like Israel and the other NATO powers in the area, as well as the Bashar Regime, they will not likely get very far in their goal of establishing their caliphate in the long run. we just need to airstrike them (hopefully killing as few civillians as possible) and use surgical direct action units to kill their leaders, and basically just do everything we can to hamstring them.
as far as the Border closing issue is concerned, we need to have stricter vetting of people coming into the country until we can figure out whats going on. The Paris attacks should have been a big wakeup call to our countries politicians. For all we know they could have sleeper cells right now waiting to shoot up a movie theater with some guns they bought at the local pawn shop.
