Yeah. Provided my fears of developers being stretched too thin from devoloping for multiple generations of consoles don't come to light, this looks to be one of the better years for 360/PS3 in recent memory. Maybe the best since 2011 and 2007 before that.
Wish we had a release date for MGSV,

all of these games were the reasons why I was getting a next gen console in the first place. I may reconsider...

I hope GTA V doesn't have an annoying cousin that calls you every 5 minutes to ask you to go bowling with him.

Bumping this just because I was surprised to discover or maybe I just remembered all the games I thought were next-gen exclusives that are actually coming to Xbox 360. Games like: Titanfall Destiny Watchdogs The Evil Within Metal Gear Solid 5 Fable Anniversary Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 Thief Wolfenstein Dying Light
Yeah, there are a few in there I knew were coming to current gen I'm just happy that the Xbox 360 will remain alive and well though 2014.

The way I see it next gen games will only be good if they are exclusively designed for next gen They are limited if they make games for both. e.g. maps can only be so big because it has to run on the 360 too.
P.S. I only found out about Wolfenstein there now. the last one was crap but this looks pretty good.

Duel Wielding. GOD I MISS DUEL WIELDING!!!
I haven't been really excited for a retail FPS, probably since Halo:Reach. I'm not really excited for Wolfenstien. Not saying I'm not following it. I'm just cautious.
That guy is, as you say, legend if only because it looks like they are trying to mix old school with new school. Not Duke Nukem style. I still don't understand why we NEED the ADS mechanic in every FPS game but sprint is welcome. Same goes I never understood why someone who was NOT strictly a soldier wouldn't duel wild two of the 20 MP5s left by dead enemies.
I'm rambling but my point is that I think we need an FPS that blends old and new mechanics, taking the best of old and new and make it a retail release so people will pick it up and take it seriously rather than it being some downloadable title clearly meant as a way to milk a few more dollars from the nostalgic shooter fans. If it has All Along the Watchtower playing during game-play I might buy it. lol

ON TOPIC: This is the me being fearful that like the Xbox before it, I'm going to be playing the back catalog of 360 games in the near future while the rest of the world is bragging about the killer app on their new console. I have not the budget, nor the killer app to coax me into buying a new console and I'm okay with that as long as the rest of the world doesn't leave me in the dust. My resurrection of this topic was out of my delight in finding that these once thought Killer Apps like Destiny, and Titanfall are coming to current gen. I love that, my wallet loves that, and I hope this continues till 2015... And not like Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter on PS2. It's absolutely screwed up that they shoveled one of the highest rated Xbox 360 games ( at the time) to PS2 for money. It was riding on the critical acclaim alone and counting on uninformed kids to put down the $49.99 for this piece of crap. Sorry, I'm still bitter that this happened to my room mate in late 2007. I mean more like Splinter Cell Double Agent where it was clear that as much love was put into then current gen as next gen.

I dont see why this isnt the game you have just described. IMO they are giving Wolfenstein old school gameplay because they liked it in the old Wolfenstein games not because they are trying to cash in like Far Cry.... Yes there is no multiplayer but if anything this will make the single player even better. Any FPS you but today is a multiplayer game with a single player tagged on! Also the original Wolfenstein games didnt have multiplayer and there were a blast. I never needed to play Half Life 2 multiplayer to say it is one of the best FPS games.

JMM. I'm really liking your "Currrent Gen Optimism". I just meant, well, the game may be pushed to the wayside because of the lack of multiplayer. It would be wise to release this game away from the Fall Shooter line up.
