seriously though, get a decent PC and emulate. You'll have the entire library of everything available to you with exception of the xbox 360, ps3 and newer generations.
Don't pay for things you already own. If you own it, you can emulate it.

um..... I never owned a . Only played ALttP on GBA. Everything else here is new to me. No joke. I went from Commodore 64, to a two year stint in PC exclusives, then I got an NES and GBC one year and the next, an N64. Hopped on to later generations from there. But cmon. It's not new. It's Nintendo games. Better versions of these games have been made. In some ways not by Nintendo, and not on a Nintendo platform. The thing about computers and emulators is that I havent the space for a tower. I been using a laptop exclusively since summer 2014. A gaming laptop would cost a fortune. What I have was good and expensive as it was (ran me $800 I think) and including this one, I've never met a PC that could handle emulation as well as the real thing. If it could, you could count the minutes. Yes. All software crashes, but I have seen more crashing on PC than anywhere and it's annoying as hell that a piece of $800 hardware can't sustain a playtime past two hours on roms of games over two decades old. IDK. Maybe you've done all the emulation yourself and know for a fact that I just have the worst luck. I imagine people boot the EMU and play Super Mario Bros. for 20 minutes and close it. But try taking a saturday afternoon to play through the entire game of anything via emulation. Sorry. I've just been burnt bad by crappy ROMs and crashing that always reminds you it's not the same.

Missing out on is pretty heartbreaking to me... Some real great games on there... The emulator you should use is ZSNES and use Romulation.net to grab your roms... I've absolutely never had a problem with either

seriously though, get a decent PC and emulate. Not even a decent PC, any old craptop will play all games, I even have an app on my phone that plays games. But there is nothing like using a controller to play it, also playing on your HDTV is nice too. For me this is an inexpensive way to get the hardware for my son to play on and experience a laptop/phone isn't the same for that.

But there is nothing like using a controller to play it, also playing on your HDTV is nice too. For me this is an inexpensive way to get the hardware for my son to play on and experience a laptop/phone isn't the same for that. www.amazon.com/Classic-USB-Super-Nintendo-Controller-PC/dp/B002JAU20WRelevant link ^ But you want a decent PC because if you build or buy a PC for one specific purpose, you're doing it wrong. You'll save way more time and money if you build a machine that can handle everything you want, versus having to buy dedicated machines for each intended purpose. This is why if you're looking for a new computer, I highly recommend you stay away from laptops. Laptops suck you in with buzz words like "portable" "convenient" or "mobile." But what you really want is something that doesn't start on fire when you want to play a game and also have an internet window open. ---- Look, the classic is cool and all, but it's super limited. You're only going to get what's shipped on it and that's it. You'll be at the mercy of what Nintendo decides is worthy. Through emulation, you get everything. Plus (insert audible gasp here) the Classic is emulating anyway, so................................................... It's not uncommon for me to play some N64, jump over to NES, hit up the Playstation, and top it all off with some or even Gameboy games all in the same day. And I use the classic controllers (through the miracle of USB connection) to enjoy most of those in the intended ways. There's only been a few times where I've been limited to remapping my xbox controller to behave like an N64 controller etc etc. ---- Basically, it's unfair to judge something based on a limited experience. If you've had unreliable emulation in the past, it's probably due to your hardware or your software. Either a bad rig, or a shitty Rom. But that's like if you drove a Ford once and it broke down and that was enough to convince you that every car ever just isn't worth the effort... ---- I'm gonna go play some Diddy Kong Racing now.

You are preaching to the choir on the benefits of PC gaming it is also super handy for me when recording footage of all types of games, PS1 and PS2 emulation is way better than playing on a PS1, PS2 etc..... I was going to make a contradicting point saying that the mini is tactile there is something nice about playing on the original hardware. Picking up the original cart and blowing on it before inserting it in the console and switch the power button on. There is nostalgia for the console itself but here is the contradiction the Mini isn't even the same size as the real and it wont have carts! You have actually convinced me not to get one lol

It's still kinda cool and I would like one for the right price but I won't go out of my way to get one. I can just see it going the way of the NES mini and the only way to get it is off a reseller for twice the asking price.
I would however find it very hard to say no to an N64 mini.

The N64 Mini won't feel the same without Rare. For sure without THAT game, but they also lose Perfect Dark, Conker, and BANJO.
Right when Nintendo was getting it's best 3rd party support, it started shutting it all down. I wouldn't be surprised to see them stretch a maximum of 10 games on the N64 Mini. They will probably want $99.99 for it too.
THis got me thinking though. At e3 this year Microsoft was all about the Original Xbox and it's influence on the ONE X. I can imagine the list of games on the Xbox Classic Mini......
Halo: Combat Evolved Amped: Freestyle Snowboarding 2 Project Gotham Racing 2 Halo 2 Fable Ninja Gaiden Black Jade Empire Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee Forza Motorsport Crimson Skies

There was a game I LOVED for Original Xbox called Sudeki, but I never completed it... Got to the last boss and couldn't beat him 'cus it locks in your character as the main guy, Tal, and he was all about combo melee combat, but I always played as the science dude with the gun and he played as a FPS and I had a super OP weapon for him

I did't even think the GE and PD wouldn't be on it. Imagine Nintendo struck a deal with MS "You can have the rights to GE for the XBLA and we get it on the N64 Mini" Why can't things like that just happen in life! Also Sudeki looks pretty cool Xargen I am sure I have seen that somewhere before.
