Yes, it's called " Playstation 4". It has an x86 CPU, 8 gigabytes of GDDR5 memory, and a hard drive. They make it sound like it's always on and saves your progress instantly. So you can turn the system off at any time and that suspends the game-play. I imagine you have to manually save the game you are playing if you want to go do something else. It's controller has a touch pad on it's center, and everything the PS3 controller has like gyroscope, as well as accelerometer. Nothing really new or revolutionary. You can play the games you download as you are downloading them. It will also be able to stream PS1, PS2, and PS3 games. I'm not sure how this works quite yet. That's all we know right now. What do you think?

Well they need to sell the damn thing. They could have packed 24gb of RAM in there and charge $900 for it but who would buy?
I don't know how the streaming works. Do you have to rebuy all your games? Is there a subscription fee that allows you access to the whole library. I don't understand what they mean by "streaming" these old titles.

Don't know what to think about that conference really. I definitely saw a lot of potential, but also some lofty promises.

My budget is $300. Let Sony and Microhard battle it out for my money.
Just kidding. Microsoft always had my money. Since 95 at least.

I was rumored that the Next Xbox will go for less than $300. Sony would be wise to ask the same price. That's probably why they held off on announcing a price today. Waiting for Microsoft to make there move.

I'm expecting a price tag of $300-400. They probably saved that as well as the actual unveiling of the console itself for E3.

Streaming will work the same way it works with onlive you don't use your computer to run the game instead you use your internet connection to stream a signal coming from some server that is running the game. I dont know how they will price it but yes you will have to pay for them again

Speaking of Onlive and streaming, what's everyone's opinion on cloud gaming? Personally I'm not a big fan of the idea. You never actually own anything you purchase on a cloud service, and if they ever decide to shut down the servers you won't be able to play.

On a related note, I hear Microsoft is making the move that publishers and developers have been wanting for a long time now, where you buy your game online and it locks to your account, kinda like steam

Xargen. When I buy my Games on Demand titles they lock to my account/gamertag. Digital titles already lock to accounts. If you mean used games will only work for origonal owners, Micro$oft said months ago that it has no intrest in enforcing such a thing.

@jmm I would hate the streaming thing then.
Video Games should be like Books. Once you buy a copy, it belongs to you! You own what's on that disc. I don't give a damn what the greedy bastards in the suits are trying to tell you and don't a single one of you reading this think for one f&cking second that video games are a "service".
Not until lately have I heard this utter bullshit idea. Publishers saying that video games are a service being provided to the consumer for a price and it's not unethical to ask you to pay to play.
Yes, Xbox Live is a service, Netflix, Hulu are services. I pay a small fee every month for these things and if they decide to pull the plug one day and take it all away yeah, ill miss it but I know I got what I paid for. A service is always changing and I'm paying for that change.
If I'm a level 82 Nord on Skyrim, a game that hasnt change since launch (minus a few bug fixes) and have poured over 120 hours into this character and someone at Bethesda pulls the plug, Ill stop playing video games.
