I always saw the Far Cry franchise as the redheaded stepchild of the FPS genre in the last two generations. It wasn't a WW2 shooter, didn't feature multiplayer modern warfare, and had no part in Sci-fi epic story. Still it was always the franchise I turned to to break up the action between the most popular of shooters. Always solid and vastly entertaining these games were the envelope pushers of the genre and now you can own (almost) all of them in one box. Today Ubisoft has announced Far Cry: The Wild Expedition. Including Far Cry, Far Cry 2, Far Cry 3, and Blood Dragon all (hopefully) on-disc this February, for $39.99. That is a better deal than buying them all separately, and if you have somehow missed out on playing the majority of these titles it really is worth checking out to see how the FPS has evolved in the last 10 years. From Halo Clone to COD Clone to something all its own and into the extreme. oh...

This week only it is cheaper to buy these titles individually via the Xbox Live Deals of the week. The above description for this compilation is only accurate for Europe. The North America bundle will have to pay the same price but will not be getting Far Cry 1 in the box. That may not matter for some because the North American compilation is an PS3 exclusive. So if you gave this bundle a second look, live in North America, and only have an Xbox 360, do yourself a favor and check out this weeks Xbox Live deals.

Lol Take note I didn't play any other FPS games in 2013 but also be aware that Blood Dragon is the 2nd highest rated FPS of 2013. Bioshock Infinite being the highest rated of course.
I'm just saying, I implore everyone to take advantage of this deal. You are getting way more than $5 worth of game here. Like maybe a whole $20 worth depending on if you take your time. I recommend you take your time.

Highly underrated game. I loved the free roaming and the use of fire.

I would have loved Far Cry 2 so much more had there not been so much micromanagement. I mean realism be damned, everything broke in that game. From the cars you drove to the guns to your fingers you even had malaria you had to take a pill for. During the action it was a great shooter but if I was Ubisoft, I would have released a patch that gave the option to turn off all the deterioration and turn it into proper Rambo fix.
Yeah Rambo (2008) came out about 5 months before this game and this game had a similar tone so of course you want to play it like Rambo. Going in guns blazing doesn't really work when your gun jams and you forgot to take your pill.

Or if you just never had to get them. Sure I took like 30 over the course of the game but surely a pill bottle can hold more than 30 pills.

The pills cost a few hundred dollars a pop. Malaria pills ain't cheap either, and when my dad gets a bottle of the pituitary gland ones, they put about 2 weeks worth of pills in it. not that much. Rule of thumb, the bottle is not always full.

I have a AK-47, and a grenade launcher. Give me a full bottle or else. I think Ubisoft agrees with the majority that didn't like the malaria thing considering it was nowhere to be found in Farcry 3.

Malaria is kind of an Africa and south america thing. Also, I liked it, because it made you feel mortal. Having those injecting shots that full heal was kind of ridiculous.

I was saying, considering my character was kindof a badass you think he could have shot his way out of that issue.

I think he means shoot as in your way out of it. Also remember Bill Gates is trying to stop Malaria altogether www.gatesfoundation.org/What-We-Do/Global-Health/Malaria The sad this is religious fanatics wont take inoculations or vaccination for whatever crazy reason they fell like thinking up.

I still liked Far Cry 2. For the time it was and probably still is the most realistic shooter I have ever played while still being fun to play. It didn't to a very good job of it but it stayed right on the edge of too realistic, and another COD clone, which I feel the earlier COD games really shrived to be as real as possible without sacrificing fun. Near perfect balance but then they took you out of that realism with have the "survive helicopter crash" perk on all the time.
