Welp, Argentina vs. Germany in the final. Glad to see Messi might finally win the WC.

...damn... Britons around the world (especially in a group of islands in the south pacific that will remain unnamed but we all know who they are) are now praying for Germany to play a similar performance to the on they performed with Brazil.

Really boring match neither side played well, it was as if they wanted penalties... Still yet to see "the best player in the world" Lionel Messi preform. If Argentina play the same way against Germany, Germany will destroy them. Same goes for Holland against Brazil.
Best part of the match of me was this.

Too bad that guy couldn't save a pedestrian PK from Rodriguez I can't say I had the same perspective on the match. Both teams defended incredibly well with Holland shutting down Messi and Argentina doing the same thing with Van Persie, Robben, and Sneijder. If Messi can kick it into gear (which he absolutely can; he's scored 4 great goals so far) and Argentina can hold their defensive shape against the Germans, I could see them winning it. That said I don't think Argentina have been outstanding this tournament. In general this has been a great World Cup without a consistently great team IMO.

You cant really blame a keeper for not saving a penalty, they aren't really expected to. Holland lost because S. Romero was able to study the Holland players taking penalties against Costa Rica.

Holland's keeper should have easily stopped Rodriguez's goal though; he guessed right on the direction and even got both hands behind the ball only to deflect it into the top of the net. Holland lost because of that and two poor PKs that were easily saved by Romero.

Penalties are like the flip of a coin but Argentina had the advantage because they seen which side the players aim for.

Sure, but if you as a keeper guess correctly on a bad PK and even get both hands on the ball, you should save it. Especially at the professional level. As for Romero "studying" their PKs against Costa Rica, you said it yourself, PKs are like flipping a coin. There's no real way of knowing ahead of time where a player is going to strike the ball. Holland just had two easily-saved strikes and they paid the price for it.

Glad Germany won. They were definitely the best team of the tournament.

I am glad it didn't go to a penalty shootout! Much better for a match to be decided in play. Schweinsteiger for me was man of the match, without him it would have been at least 2-0 to Argentina.
