Goldeneye Reloaded was a cash grab pure and simple. The 3ds needs relatively no help in sales. I would believe you JMM if it wasn't for that point, or if Majoras Mask was coming to Wii U instead.
I would have been convinced this was all for money had they made Majoras Mask 3d a New Nintendo 3ds exclusive but as far as we know the games only compatible with New 3dsi will be few and far between.
If Nintendo wants to go this route they need to step up the scheme their already running. Meaning, taking their beloved classic franchises and repackaging them as remixes, remakes, and soft sequels in the vein of A Link Between Worlds. Even then, they release one game like this every quarter anymore but releaseing 4 games the hardcore might care about a year won't sell consoles.
Having said all that, the 3ds is a safe buy. Every pre-gamecube Mario, Zelda, and hopefully in the near future, Pokemon is available on the console and it's freakin great. Now if we can get the pkmn red and blue on virtual console.

Goldeneye Reloaded was a cash grab pure and simple. The 3ds needs relatively no help in sales. You don't understand my point. What I am saying is every game made by Nintendo, Microsoft etc is made to make money. It is called the video game industry of a reason. Nintendo are in the video game business and a business doesn't work without making money.

Oh, well, yeah. Careful though. Art, is never born a cash grab.

Nintendo were "born" on the NES and the , they grew up on the N64 and gamecube. Now they are fully grown and they are no longer happy with the pocket money we used to give them. Now they want to constantly remind us how good they were when they were younger in the hope we will give them more money.

That's a clever way of looking at it. On that note, I think Nintendo is constantly trying remind us of their legacy and not just through the games. It's every other day anymore I hear about an Amibo, 3ds, or limited edition something that sells out in 15 minutes and is put on eBay for 3x the suggested retail price.
I sometimes think it's all a desperate ploy to make people argue and fight over Nintendo's increasingly irrelevant products. It's the Wii all over again. Making something hard to get so it becomes rare, valuable, and sought after is their game.
I hear about the supply shortages more than I hear about the games themselves and it makes me wonder if all the noise is excitement over the games themselves or just the rarity of irrelevant products.

You have to judge each case on its merits, I wouldn't say it was guaranteed (nothing is). As for WHY Nintendo released Majora Mask or any of their remake games I KNOW what the answer is. Wait for it.... drum roll please.... MONEY and to sell consoles. Sugar coat it all you want "its for the fans" "its for the new generation" Bulls**t. What about the fans of GoldenEye on the N64? if they care about the fans and want the new generation of gamers to play old Nintendo games they would have given the go ahead on GE XBLA. They do things for their fans when it suits them and when they can make money from it. It is a business. I fully realize that gaming is a business and that re-releases (and games in general) come about mostly to make money. However, my point is that they don't come about for the sole purpose of making money even if that is the primary goal. It's overly-cynical not to mention demeaning to those who work on these games to suggest that money is the only motivating factor. As for GE, we all know full well why the XBLA port never happened. There was just too much red tape wrapped up in the GE license. This was an IP issue that really had nothing to do with money. If anything GE XBLA is actually a good example of developers not simply porting a game for the sole intention of making money. Considering they spent a year developing a port that was never ultimately released without a go-ahead from the execs at MS (however naive this may have been), it's clear that this was a labor of love for the developers. They wanted to remaster GE for a new generation. They wanted to get it into the hands of fans who cherished the original. I really don't think money was much of a motivating factor here.

I must disagree on 2015 being a boring year for games.
Arkham Knight: Rocksteady has made two of the best action/adventure games of all time with the first two Arkham titles. While Arkahm Knight doesn't seem to be doing anything revolutionary with the genre, those games were always about the rock-solid gameplay, the insanely detailed world, dripping with references to Batman lore. Introducing the bat mobile adds a whole new driving element to getting around Gotham and the tank-like combat that wasn't in the previous games is sure to make gameplay dramatically different.
Halo 5: This game is adding full-on ADS support as well as team chatter and about 5 other things that differentiate it from previous Halos but make it play more like Call of Duty. Better graphics, yes. Nothing groundbreaking though. Fanboys will argue it's launch as being as relevant as Halo 2, or Reach but I have my doubts due to the Master chief Collection launch making me wonder if 343i can produce anything truly impressive when they have to stick to an biennial development schedule.
Mario Maker: I haven't really talked about this games on GoldenEdge till now. It's a Wii U game that allows you to build your own 2D Mario levels and share them with friends. You can render them in Mario Bros., SMB.3, Mario World, and New Super Mario graphics and mix music tracks from those games into the levels. It's a really interesting tool set. It depends on the creativity of the person playing to gauge how much fun they'll have with it but it's something both new and old and it's got me excited.
Metal Gear Solid V: This looks like it's going to surprise alot of people. Mostly those who came off of Ground Zeros with lowered expectations, with just how good it looks, plays, and even better, how much fun it is when you take your time and get the most out of it.
Star Wars Battlefont: Were looking at what could either be a disappointing Battlefield clone with a Star Wars skin or a love letter to everyone whose lost hope on ever playing a true sequel to Battlefront II. Hopefully it's the later.
No Man's Sky: If this game fulfills its promises and brings us a near-infinite universe to explore, we could be looking at a revolutionary title. It's features will surely be implemented into many more games. That's IF it lives up to the hype. An infinite universe could turn out to be a boring place, like a desert. Who knows.
Zelda U: Take Skyrim, then give it a Hyrule theme. That's the concept for Zelda U. It's an exciting prospect to set Link loose to tackle any dungeon he wants, in any order, over a map that's more in-tune to the scale with what we would imagine a real-world Hyrule would be. This games could be the biggest, most beautiful game Nintendo has ever produced and judging by all the other titles coming from them in 2015, everyone is expecting Zelda U to be the true killer app the Wii U desperately needs.
This year is full of games that come to accumulate a reason to finally buy a next-gen console. Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo know that there are still a large number of gamers biting their lip over next gen. They just arnt convinced. A new Metal Gear, Halo, and Zelda are the weapons of choice for these respective company's and you can bet your bottom dollar that they are going to make alot of promises and shake alot of hands in order to hype these games up to killer app status and sell you a console. The only thing we don't know is if these games will live up to said hype.
Is it the best year gaming has ever seen? Not even close. Is it better than last year? I would say so. The one thing it isnt, is "kind of boring".

While we're on the subject of Halo and game chat, does anyone else miss proximity chat in TMCC? I always thought it was a fairly cool feature.

Bloodborne has a lot of potential, and it seems to be delivering in most respects so far from what I've seen of it. I was skeptical at first, but it continues to surprise me. I like the fluidity of the combat and the setting is interesting.

Do you have a PS4 rev86 I always thought of you as a PC gamer I have no idea why!lol Yeah so funny story, I have only a Ps3, and my computer is a 2009 dell laptop with an integrated intel graphics card, so it's a toaster all things considered. Although for most of my life, I've been an avid PC gamer. Unfortunately my other PC got destroyed a few years back and I haven't had enough money since then to build another one. x.x
