My desktop CPU: AMD Phenom ii X4 965 BE GPU: Galaxy GTX 560 Ti 1 GB MoBo: Asus M5A97 HD(s): 1 TB and 500 GB 7200 RPM Seagate Barracudas RAM: 8 GB Patriot DDR3 Display: Acer G215HV 22" PSU: Corsair 600W something something HS: Corsair H60 (stock cooler sounded like an engine)
Not too bad for the price.
Sounds almost identical to my i3 laptop. In that case I'm sure you'll like it.

I'm planning on a PC build once this laptop is out of commission or just really old

I'd advise getting a better CPU unless you have an aftermarket heatsink and you know how to overclock. It's pretty outdated. In total it was about $1000 at the time, but I definitely over-payed for certain parts.

Desktop that's closing in on a year old;
2TB HDD (Added in another 80Gig that I found lying around that had loads of my old stuff on it) 8GB RAM 4.4GHz Quad Core Radeon HD 6670 1GB Graphics
Came without Windows for £370 or so, picked up an OEM version of Windows 7 for about £70 Also didn't come with a keyboard/mouse/monitor (Didn't need 'em anyway)
