That's IGN. Can't trust them as far as you can throw them when it comes to reviews. Don't be too upset. Remember that these are the same people who find a way to give every Call of Duty and Halo a 9.0 or higher every singe year.
On a personal note, I can't disagree with them too much. RE0 is a largely unappreciated game, and one of the better Resident evil games..... but it not as good as... well, RE1/RE2/RE3/RCV/RE4. You could call is a solid start* to the series, but it only gets better from there. In my humble opinion mind you...
Sorry, but there is just a feeling I get when RE0 comes to mind. In hind-sight it always felt a bit like contract fulfillment for Capcom and Nintendo and no amount of graphical touch ups and extra features can get rid of that feeling. RE0 always felt like the black sheep of the good RE games.
That REmake 2 trailer can drop at any time now.... any time now... maybe not.

I would still take this over roided out Chris Redfield any day.
If they can make RE2 look and control as good as these remasters, it'll take my pick for GOTY easy. RE2 is the best.

Wait, is IGN still relevant? Most games journalism is basically dead after gamergate.

I doubt Jose is a big old school resident evil fan. Remember it's just a job for him. He probably didn't even want to play the game in the first place but it's either that, or lose his job.
Would sooner trust a fan of the series or a complete noob experiencing it for the first time because he/she WANTS to play it. This is a huge reason you don't see every AAA game get a review on GoldenEdge a week after it comes out. I love that because the people here make reviews because they want to and are honest and passionate about their opinions. What you ultimately get is an honest review on a game that was played out of genuine interest, not obligation, and that level of integrity is what counts the most.
We are real gamers and that's why I will always take your opinions on games more seriously than the jibber jabber marketing, hype, nostalgia, and contracts tends to produce on commercial websites.
