I know. It didn't even feel worth commenting on or this would have been covered 2 days ago. They really really need to make a single player even if it plays like Half-Life 2, if they can get the objectives to work than at least we would have a remake closer to anything before. Cool trailer though. I'm not about to take this for granted. 19 years later Goldeneye is still alive... even if it's on ice.

If they make the single player, they will most definitely get smacked by Nintendo who will then force them to remove it completely from public access.
Doing it this way means it has a better chance of flying under the radar.
Or did you want another Star Wars: Galaxy In Turmoil?

Yeah. I would rather have a solid build of a full single-player hit the internet and downloaded thousands of times before being taken down. I really don't mind Nintendos crusade in building this reputation.

Yeah. I would rather have a solid build of a full single-player hit the internet and downloaded thousands of times before being taken down. I really don't mind Nintendos crusade in building this reputation. And I'd rather have something that can continue to be updated and maintained rather than something that has to be re-invented every time an indie dev gets mad they can't play their old games anymore. Plus, while you could always torrent from the thousands of players that got it before takedown, it's nice when you don't have to scrounge for links that aren't dead/risk a virus from shady sources and can just go to a website hosted by the devs and get it there. www.techdirt.com/articles/20160811/10533935218/nintendo-shuts-down-fan-remake-25-year-old-metroid-2-game-because-it-cant-help-itself.shtmlkotaku.com/metal-gear-solid-hd-fan-remake-suddenly-shuts-down-1762987298wegotthiscovered.com/gaming/fan-remake-resident-evil-2-shut-request-capcom/www.eurogamer.net/articles/2016-04-07-zeldas-browser-based-fan-remake-shut-down-by-nintendowww.chipchick.com/2016/08/pokemon-uranium.htmlThere's only 2 reasons why GE: Source is a thing that still exits. 1) The devs waited until it was finished and released before saying ANYTHING and 2) It's not a remake. It's not a remaster. It's a standalone empty shell of a game that doesn't really fully represent the original. And while I sincerely think Ninty and other Game Studios are shooting themselves in the foot by shutting down fan-made remakes of games they themselves no longer offer, the fact remains that those same Game Studios own those characters. They are (grumble grumble) well within their rights to shut these fan games down. So while I too would love a single player campaign, I hope to god these guys never make it. It would mean the end of GE: Source...at least until 10 years down the road someone else takes another go at it and the cycle starts all over again. No I would rather a separate studio make the single player (and ONLY the single player) and have it be a completely separate entity than this. It's the safest way. Although to be fair, any single player campaign for any game is going to have more grounds for cease-and-desist than just the multiplayer portions.

Um... yep.
Of course Nintendo has every right to take it down. I encourage any action whether it take 20 minutes or 10 years that keeps great games available and appealing to the masses.
It'll takes 10 minutes for Nintendo to call their lawyer and get a cease and desist sent out but dammit anyway.
Imitation is the most sincere form of flattery and Nintendo shutting stuff down only continues to show their stance on video games as art.
I'm a fool. I'll be the first to say it. So I'm just going to let things run their course with Nintendo and keep hoping people wise up to their shenanigans.

Well that's great and all, but it does nothing to address the issue: if they made the entire game, they'd get shot down without question.
Making half the game gives them a better chance of staying alive.
Not including the single player campaign is a design choice and not something they did due to lack of talent. It's intentional because they want their work to be available for as long as possible.

Watching this makes me sad If only there was a team dedicated to rebuilding this project using the assets from goldeneye source
