So I really liked the imagery in that first shot with Deckards line from the first film. You get the iconic Blade Runner silhouette with the one-line explanation of what a Blade Runner is (or isnt). I think it's a great introduction but I would have rather had a line for the new film.
The head in the sand looks like a vanilla synthetic before any personality modifications. Maybe a statue? I can't help but to suspect that Deckard (maybe Gosling) being a replicant is a big focus in the film.
I love the return to the return to the smoggy streets. They did a great job in making that look like the sets from the original film. From what little we've seen at least.
I'm going into this film blind as far as internet opinion goes. Happy to discuss it with anyone here on GoldenEdge but I know too many fan theories are going to just dull expectations. What did you think about Blade Runner 2049 Announcement???

I dunno how I feel about Harrison Ford these days... Like, his recent roles are "Your old character, only now you're old and more or less unable to do things as good as you used to so you get to doe the whole baton pass thing"

Yeah I can understand how they could make this like The Force Awakens. We'll catch up with Deckard half way through and he'll die at the end.
With that said, it's difficult for me to worry about that happening. This isn't J.J. Abrams (king of reboots) and Disney formulating a marketable nostalgia trip. I'm hoping for a bit more substance.
