I'll probably be booted off the board for this, since I can probably guess JMM's view on the new game (if he has even played it at all)
I loved it. I went over to a guys house that previously I had only talked to online. We actually met randomly looking for a partner for RE5.
We played the absolute shit out of that game, going through the coop campaign multiple times, trying to challenge ourselves with limited weaponry on high difficulties, doing all the achievements etc.
We even got a perfect score on one of the mercenaries levels together (killed all enemies with a continuous combo streak)
There was literally nothing we didn't do in that game.
So playing through RE6 together, only to find out that it was pretty much improved in every aspect was an awesome experience. We played through the 3 co-op campaigns over the span of 18 hours (average of 6 hours each, and considering there was still the single player ada wong campaign to go, that's an impressive amount of content) before I had to head back.
There's no doubt that we'll probably thrash this title together as well, too bad I don't have a standard internet connection right now :<
Anybody else played this game? I know there was pretty much resounding dislike of this title, even from those that enjoyed RE5, which I find rather baffling.

must.... fight..... the... urge....lol This is what is like for me, me and you are on two side of a coin and I will explain it using Incubation
Lets pretend I am some fan of Battle Isle games I love the way it plays and then a few games in Blue Byte decide to release Incubation and I am like what is this shit it doesnt play like Battle Isle at all!
In my opinion Capcom were at their best when they made games like Res 2, Dino crisis Res 1 Remake and so on. So Res 6 could be the best action ever, I dont care, I dont even want to know about it because it isnt a survival horror game.
Being a fan of Incubation is a bit like being a fan of Res 6, I have disregarded everything that has came before it (because I never play any Battle Isle game) and just enjoyed it for what it is. I cant do that for Res 6.

True that, agree with you 100%
I can understand that when the formulae of a franchise is totally flipped on it's head, it's obviously going to alienate the fans.
And I'll be the first to admit that while I dipped into RE1 and 2 back in the day, I never really finished them. My entry to the series was pretty much RE5, so I've come to expect the action-centric gameplay.
At least we both couldn't really care less about battle isle :3

Go play the old Resident Evil games. Do you have a Wii? Buy Resident Evil Archives. Have a 360? Buy Code Veronica. Amazon has these games for semi-cheap prices. You are robbing yourself of great exp. here. As for Alienatieng fans. I feel this way about the Halo franchise. It doesnt even feel like Halo anymore to me. It's come amalgamation of classic Halo, COD, and resmbles of Crysis.

The last console I had was a PS2, pretty much only play on PC these days :3 Could probably emulate them easy enough, but honestly there are just too many great games I've yet to play, something I'm sure most gamers could sympathize with. Just don't have the time to play them all!

Its sad to think, I have so many games, so many that I will probably never even play them the whole way through in my life time (same thing with movies)

Well if you already own them then that is half the battle already done. Just take some time, don't buy anymore games and play what you have.
My problem is I'm interested in playing about 10 games right now and I don't have the money to buy even 2 of them. Then I have so much still to do in the games I do have. It's a blessing and a curse. This need to finish and get them most out of my games.
These days games are like movies to many people. Buy it, spend 3 hours in single player, maybe double that in multiplayer, and done.

To be honest, Resident Evil 6 wasn't even that good an action game, it was a cliche Gears of War wannabe action shooter which does not resemble Resident Evil in the slightest. Resident Evil is dead, only leaving three good memories, Resident Evil 1, 2 and 3. (At least 3 was still an enjoyable game)
