THE INTRODUCTION For this week's movie i present to you Boyz' N the Hood (1991), John Singleton's dark look at the life of young african american males and females in the 1991 L.A. ghettos. The special thing about this movie is it came at the perfect time, when no one had really shown the world the life style of a early 20s black man living the ghetto and no less at the prime of the ghetto and gangsta life style. This movie captures exactly the feeling of the ghettos these people endured, and what people who only wanted a better life endured and what people who didn't want to go any were had to go though. For a cast this was a exceptional picking, Ice-Cube playing doughboy riding off the fame of his N.W.A rap group, and he brings a Grade A performance no less, showing us exactly what a young black male looks, talks, and feels like. Cuba Gooding Jr. and Morris Chestnut playing Tre Styles and Ricky Baker, both exceptional performances, they both excellent chemistry together and make a great friend duo. Then there is Laurence Fishburne, Who brings probably the second best performance of the film, and in my opinion his best pre-matrix performance, an excellent actor playing an excellent role as a father who had left his son to live in L.A. and is angered bye the community that surrounds him. But without a further a-do here is Boyz' n the Hood (1991)...
NOTES This video is in full 1080p sexiness, but its only been up for a month and i'm a little skeptical on how long its stay on youtube will be, and i'm not seeing a replacement, so hurry and watch it before its gone...

How appropriate. Vice City is to Scarface as San Andreas is to Boyz N the Hood.
I don't want to talk trash on it but it makes me feel old to know that I was alive at the time this movie takes place and was filmed. Everything looks old and worn and reminds me of the by-gone era of the late 80's early 90's. Hard to explain.

I just realized ( and this might be a spoiler for those who haven't seen it), i just finished the movie for the third or fourth time, and as jaded as I am to movies, this still is one of the only movies that still make me cry like a bitch every time, it's hard a movie to watch if you've ever had a really good best friend or friends, for a movie old that really goes to show just what kind of emotion a movie can move you to, though I might take movies a little to serious sometimes

Not at all. You don't take them too seriously. I pitty the fool who can't be moved by an art weather it be film or another form, for he cannot taste the finest spice of life.

Also a great song in boys in the hood that I spotted in GTA V is The Five Stairsteps - Ooh Child Every time I listen to the song I think of the scene in boys in the hood when Tre and his dad are coming back from fishing. Has anyone else heard it in GTA?
