Alright, you all know how I get attached to things and all. Well, couple days ago an era ended. And while I can't really find the right words, here's what I have to show for it: Though I am primarily a Mac user, I grew up on Windows XP. Spoiler Farewell, you old dog you.

My wife has Windows 8 and it is disgusting! Screen pop into view or swipe away when you dont want them to, it is a nightmare to find anything and nothing ever truly shuts down which makes them slow.
XP was really easy to modify and access setting etc, ever since XP Microsoft have been slowly hiding setting to the point where Windows 8 is like playing a game of hide and seek!
Windows 7 is probably my favorite and I dread the day I have to buy a Windows 8 machine.

Windows 8 desktop mode is getting a start button... finally I got that Start button about 5 months ago. It don't solve anything. The fact that the Xbox One dashboard is still running behind everything making my 2.60GHz feel like 1.20GHz hurts more than it help. I'm not saying Bill Gates can solve everything or anything but WHERE IS HE!!! Things were better when he was around. Since when did simple complexity rule over complex simplicity?

Northern England has known no other OS like XP...partly because the only alternative is vista and we haven't discovered 7 yet...or the wheel for that matter (Joking of course but XP was a lovely little thing and it will be missed by all it's like watching a son/daughter leave home.)
