So a friend of mine and I were at the local video store (the last one that still rents out games) the other day and he decided to rent both himself and I copies of Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare. This isnt a review but rather a look at one of the final campaign levels and how it reminded me of the FPS genre as it was and how it could of been. Basically, in the opening cutscene of this level, your left arm is broken. The level has you sneaking around in a bio lab turned prison, as you try to escape while engaging enemies in close quarters. Now I don't LOOK for references to anything in games, but I was getting a huge Goldeneye vibe off this particular part in the game, namely the Facility level. Now lets take a look at the level itself..... Whats cool here is that they modified the damage the enemies take and the whole pace of the game to cater to this playstyle. It's no Goldeneye but it was still extremely surprising to have an FPS experience like this. It makes me wonder how different the genre would be if ADS was never introduced and the only major evolution since Halo was sprint... The rest of the game is your typical COD. Not much to say about it. It's amazing how removing one gameplay function, and modifying the damage and pace of the game can change so much. Frankly, I was really into it. Your thoughts?

Great post, I am genuinely not sure how to respond I just don't know how I feel about the FPS genre anymore. After that How is this still a thing? thread it seems like opinion is pretty mix on ADS, sprint and regenerating health. Some people say we are living in the past but all I know is that if Half Life 3 dropped and it played like HL2 it would be awesome.

Something inside me wants to be excited for Halo 5 but every time I look at gameplay it makes me sick.

How is the Master Chief Collection? Is it hard to play online? Laggy or anything?

Same input lag problem on Halo: CEA in co-op. The rest of the games play fine. As far as competitive multiplayer goes I've only played one game cause it requires sitting in a lobby for ten minutes. Solo campaign for all games is pretty much flawless unless you're super picky.

Yeah. Considering how well they ported that game, backwards compatibility is possible as far as I know. They just won't make it happen.
