Confirmed in a somewhat interesting interview with the Klobb. Apparently the next PD may be a more story-driven non-FPS game that releases around 2020. Yay... I really don't get this excerpt: "In a world where you have Halo and you have Gears, having another Perfect Dark Zero-style game maybe makes a little bit less sense than something that's a little more story-driven around Joanna." The problem is, nobody is asking for a Halo clone like PDZ was originally intended to be. We want an arcade shooter in the same vein as the original that retains what made it great: Bond elements, stealth, sandbox level design, and ludicrous multiplayer customization. I really don't see how either of those franchises he mentioned fill this kind of niche, and even if there are some superficial similarities between PD and Halo, why can't MS make room for two blockbuster FPS franchises?

Why is he even comparing Gears to PD!? I think Lobb hit the nail on the head in a video where he was playing PD XBLA, he was talking about where they when wrong with PD Zero. I am in work so I dont have time to look for the video but to sum it up he says PD ZERO was trying to be too much like halo. So why don't they stick to what they had on the N64!

I'll respond to this better late than never. I think MMCC0203 pretty much said what I would have in that nobody is asking for the Halo clone that PDZ was. We want something NEW running on the Perfect Dark Engine. Don't say that engine is too old either. Hell, Halo as a series has been using the same engine for the last 14 years. It may be unrecognizable from a coding standpoint but it's still pretty much Halo. They could replicate the Halo:CE engine in Halo 5 very easily. There are other FPS games besides HALO, COD, and Battlefield and Microsoft needs to recognize and respect that just because it didn't play like COD in it's last iteration, doesn't mean it's any less relevant. They might be surprised how refreshing (successful) a game without modern gameplay mechanics can be. I mean, CMON! Resident Evil Remastered!!! A game that we thought would be practically crippled by it's "aged" gameplay in the eyes of today's youth, BROKE RECORDS as Capcoms fastest selling digital title to date and was PSN's biggest day one launch EVER!!! That was a remaster of a remake of a game that was all but forgotten by the majority of today's gamers. Nobody asked for it, and it seemed like nobody cared, then it launched and it's all I saw on twitch for the following two weeks. You get my point. Maybe people are getting tired of new "survival horror", and new "first-person shooters". Hey Microsoft! Want to make a quick profit? Bring back Perfect Dark! If my dreams came true we would get a Perfect Dark 2 announcement at E3 2015. No release date, just an announcement and an Alpha-demo of the first level showing some story, graphics, and gameplay. Then to tied us over they would announce the port of Perfect Dark to the Xbox One as a pre-order bonus for PD2. Better yet, PDZ and Perfect Dark on a disc in Fall 2015. Something along those lines. My wife says "Don't you hope to see Perfect Dark at E3 every year?" and I tell her that while I don't expect it, things are different with Microsoft having a post-PDZ console out and no Perfect Dark to speak of. They shouldn't just sit on this IP. It has a legacy in the same vein as Wolfenstein and Doom. It's foolish not to try and capitalize on it.
