*high five
Awesome, if I wasn't stuck on the beach all day today I would run to target but I'm probably gonna pass this one up. I'm looking at getting a Wii u in the next few months... Nintendo is going to steam roll the competition with their first party titles this year. Bold statement but I'm more excited in general for the announced Wii U lineup.

Wish I was "stuck on the beach." Freezing my ass off in Kansas atm. Anyway, it's probably a smart idea as there's really no need to upgrade if you already have an XL. It's basically the same console with a few revisions. As for the Wii U I'd say now is a better time than ever to jump in.

I'm in Myrtle Beach, SC right now. It's 55 here so pretty cold but it's still the beautiful blue Atlantic. If I squirt my eyes real hard I think I can see a few fellow GoldenEdge members waving at me from....... oh it's just a boat... never mind.

I absolutely 100% nearly shit myself... So I got my 3DS today and was all "Yaaaay" then proceeded to transfer my other stuff from my other 3DS then once that was all done I came to the realisation that my new 3DS warned me that it would have to delete everything on the Micro-SD, and I didn't even think two thoughts about it and was all "Yeah sure mate, go ahead"... Transferred all my stuff over then was like "Wait... Where's my pre-installed Majoras Mask that was there a minute ago..." Of course I had deleted it, but thankfully it's listed as purchased in the Nintendo E-Store so I'm downloading it again as I type this

Of course I had deleted it, but thankfully it's listed as purchased in the Nintendo E-Store so I'm downloading it again as I type this I was wondering how that would work if you were transferring stuff from an old 3DS. Glad Nintendo planned for it. As for the console, I'm really digging it so far. When I do decide to turn the 3D on (still keep it off most of the time due to the aliasing it causes) it works great. The head tracking does a great job at retaining the 3D effect so long as you stay within the camera's view. The analog nub is also quite nice as is the extra screen real estate. I'm not sure I dig the placement of the cart slot though as I find my left hand resting up against the cart constantly; I feel like I could pop MM out at any time while playing. All in all it seems to have all the benefits of the old XL with some mostly good refinements. I'd say the game is exactly what I'd imagined it would be so far. There are some odd tweaks here and there like getting the Song of Soaring earlier or the relocation of the bank to South Clock Town, but for the most part it's still the same game I know and love. Surprisingly the save system hasn't bothered me too much thus far even if does take away a bit of tension.

As far as I can remember from the old game, you got the Song of Soaring in the same place, it's just that you had to hit the owl statues with your sword to activate them, which you don't have to do now, which means the first one is accessible right away

Also, graphically, the game looks beautiful... You know when you played a game when you were younger, and you loved it, and you remember "exactly" how it looked, then years later you go back to it and you're like "... This looks a lot worse than I remember"? Well Majoras Mask 3D looks better than I remember it looking, even with the nostalgia glasses on

Also, boss fights have been tweaked now it seems, I've only got the second boss down so far, and I'm quite curious as to how they've changed Gyorg... I bet they added an eyeball

Yeah I read they added eye balls to all the bosses to make them easier to know how to kill.

The bosses have been hit-or-miss for me so far. They removed pretty much all of Odolwa's offensive capabilities, so now he just sits around waiting for you to bomb him with a Deku nut. On the other hand I'd say the battle with Goht has been improved; he can actually kick you with his hind legs if you get too close to them now, and once you stun him you have to frantically attack his eye thing for massive damage. Haven't gotten to Gyorg or Twinmold yet. The change to Zora Link's swimming completely sucks. They've made ZL easier to control, but at the cost of fun (and magic). If they had just mapped fast swim and magic barrier to separate buttons it'd be perfect. Sucks that we have to pay 200 rupees for Chateau Romani just to have the same functionality we had by default in the original.

Gyorg is very different, and I like it... Just got finished up in that temple, running some errands to get some masks now then hitting up the next temple

And yeah, now that you mention it, I do remember getting the Song of Soaring outside Woodfall... It's a bit of a surprise to me that it's been so long that I've actually forgotten about parts of this game lol
