*Tapping foot, arms crossed, eyes rolling, looks at watch Here we go again. Activision should be along any minute now with.... All hail the cryptic adverts. Seriously, in 9 months we'll all be like, "meh". OT: I do want to know the Halo 5 story for the sake of seeing where 343i takes the Master Chief but I'm not even close to excited for the actual game. The best made it feel like Halo 4.5 and I'm seeing no innovation on the gameplay side of things. No duel wielding, the MC doesn't even have a flashlight! Whats going on?!?

It's because it's Activision. Activision ruins everything. They even ruined Call of Duty (in my opinion). The last "good" CoD was MW2 and both Infinity Ward and Activision worked on it. Then MW3 hit, and it was "eh...", then Black Ops (garbage), Black Ops 2 (didn't even touch it), Ghosts (only played it for the character customization) and now their newest installment; Advanced Warfighter.
It's the same game with just a slight different title and disk cover.
And when I got my hands on the Halo 5 beta multiplayer...very disappointed. It was not Halo at all. Class loadouts, "Spartan abilities", in-game character call-outs.
It's not Halo. It's Call of Duty with a Halo texture slapped onto it. I'll probably get Halo 5 but for the story only. I say that now, but I know I'll get suckered into playing the CoD multiplayer.

I just need to clear a few things up here:
While I'll agree that the last good COD was Modern warfare 2, it wasn't because both IW and Activision worked on it. Activision doesn't develop games. They only publish them and fund the development of games which in-turn lets them set release deadlines. If Activision is guilty of anything it's killing off great franchises by forcing developers to stick to a annualized release schedule which usually results in either playing it safe with refinement like in COD, or taking risks without the time to fully realize them like in the late Tony Hawk franchise. The reason why COD is the "same" every year is because Activision learned their lesson with the dramatic drop in sales of certain franchises due to either the market becoming over-saturated or premature innovations being shipped with the game.
Modern Warfare 1 & 2s quality in both story telling and gameplay are in large part due to Jason West and Frank Zampella. They were the founders of Infinity Ward and directed those two games. These two were fired from the studio in 2010, following the release of MW2, due to a "breach in contract". We'll never know what really happened but several key developers (46 employees) left the studio shortly after that and were subsequently replaced with new people. Infinity Ward is just a name Activision owns and likes to attach to COD games to bank on the Modern Warfare buzz the name brings. After the negative reception Ghosts was met with in 2013, Activision brought in Sledgehammer Games (who had previously worked on MW3 with IW) to develop the next game, Advanced Warfare, presumably to give Inifinity Ward more time to evaluate it's development choices moving forward.
West and Zampella have since moved on found Respawn Entertainment and create a little game you might have heard of called Titanfall.
In all honesty, I don't know where I'll be in Q4 of 2015. Halo 5 or COD 2015 might look like the the best games to get in the weeks surrounding their release depending on what my closest friends are playing. I would never have touched Advanced warfare had a friend not bought it for me and looking back, I can honestly say, I enjoyed playing that game online with him. I still think MW2 is still the peak of that series but I never played that game with friends either so theres that. As it stands right now, I have no intention on buying anything besides MGSV and I'm going to try and vote with me dollars and NOT buy Halo or COD this year.

The best CoD multiplayer for me, was World at War. Absolutely great gameplay and everything felt well balanced. Then 2nd best would have to be MW2. And then from there it just dropped dramatically. But the games everyone should go for when either buying the Xbox One for the first time, or have a One but don't know what to buy, I do recommend Titanfall, Master Chief Collection, and Battlefield 4. Battlefield Hardline is also coming but that doesn't look all that appealing. As for Halo 5? I would still get it, and who knows, maybe I will love the multiplayer? I only played the beta for like 4 days out of the 4 weeks it was available, so I guess I never really did give it a chance. But seriously...Battlefield 4... *whispers* get...it... I need someone to play it with GamerTag: Leppy101

I picked up the Master Chief Collection as an elective pack-in when I bought my Xbone. I bought it mainly to have the original Halo trilogy on a single disc. I believe it's the best FPS trilogy out there. World at War had it's charm and I hope they go back to WW2 in the next COD because it's gonna be hard not to completely ignore another future warfare game ala Black Ops III. Also, no other FPS games really appeal to me on Xbone so far. Maybe Far Cry 4 and the just announced Deus Ex.
Anyway if you want to stay off topic we should take this conversation to it's own thread. Greenfire32 meant for this t be a Halo 5 audiolog directory and weve all but pulled the track up benieth the train with this COD talk.

Actually Blackfire, I MUCH prefer Hardline to BF4... I wasn't really a big fan of 4 for some reason, which is strange for me seeing as I LOVED 3, but Hardline makes things feel fresh and new again...
Also, a friend of mine said if they re-released MW2 for Xbone, he'd totally buy it... I guess it must be nearly everybody's favourite =p
Also, yes, Halo 5, I'm in the same boat as Blade Runner here... More curious about where they take the story rather than playing the game

Also, a friend of mine said if they re-released MW2 for Xbone, he'd totally buy it... I guess it must be nearly everybody's favourite =p If they put all three Modern Warfare games on a disc with the expected polish of 1080p and a rock solid 60fps, and maybe reworked COD4 to have better graphics and cut out the infinitely respawning enemies, AND dedicated server multiplayer for ALL THREE games I would consider picking it up. If anything, Activision could capitalize on following through with an idea like that. If all three games have their full multiplayer feature instead of the "best of" playlists like in Halo: MCC, they could really show 343i up. I just wanted to play some online SWAT on Halo 3 again, and 343i made it sound like that would be possible but they dropped the ball so bad with the online in that game. They made it sound like we were getting everything but as it turns out, without that online support its only HALF of everything.
