that why l4d was a great succes i might add it gave the horror atmosphere but changed some key elements like making the survivors very noticeable in personality and they changedthe way zombies were seen for some devs making the zombie phenomenom even bigger

I'm still looking for that game we can all play together, and Zombie slaying is always fun. This will probably be the first year in eight years that I don't buy an FPS game at all. That is unusual for me. Wish the Zombies mode you could just buy by itself.

Exactly, I hate the thought of paying full price for something that could be an XBLA style download for £10

I wish all these games wearnt so expensive. I know they take alot to make but as far as value per dollar goes things don't look promising. It actually kinda bothers me I'm not playing a new FPS this November. Might look into finally picking up Wolfenstein. I had to force myself to get off of Metal Gear. Those mission tasks are just achievable enough that I could put another 5-10 hours in just mop those up but staring at the ACC for 30 days straight is can lead one starved for variety.
Speaking of FPS games, at this point, Half-Life 3 will never live up the the hype. I'm beginning to join the rest who say HL3 will shake up the genre with it's game design and popularity more than the quality of it's actual game. Next year would be the time to strike with HL3 with Far Cry going primitive, COD only having Ghosts 2 to look forward to and Halo 5 Complete Edition being it's only predictable genre competition. Considering it'll likely be a day one console launch as well, instead of just a campaign, can you imagine if they packed Portal 3 and Team Fortress 3 in with Half-Life 3? I think a few heads would explode but I wouldn't put it past valve. Nobody expected the Orange Box to be any bigger than just Half-Life but Portal alone took GOTY for some people, and Team Fortress is still being played today.

can you imagine if they packed Portal 3 and Team Fortress 3 in with Half-Life 3? You forgot Left 3 Dead. The next FPS game I will get is Rise of the Triad 2013

I was being serious though. Can you imagine Valve debunking the "can't count to three" joke by giving us what is essentially a 2nd Orange Box. I game like Bioshock does well enough on it's own but just a Half-Life 3 single-player campaign won't be enough for everyone. Too little, too late.
