well the video tells the viewer which part to skip to if they don't want spoilers so i didn't think putting a spoiler warning in thread title was necessary.

Wow. This guy hates MGSV. He criticizes everything. I think for him, this games biggest sin is being new and different. He hates on EVERYTHING! {Spoiler}He's upset that the things you do in the game don't matter to the bigger story and there wasn't more Zero story, but the end of the game justifies all of this AND ties Big Bosses story into Metal Gear. The absence of more Eli story is something I address in my own "review" and I think it's important to take into consideration what Kojima was shooting for. Remember that Kojima didn't get to make the full game he wanted with MGSV. If he had six more months and not been worried about being canned, I know MGSV would have been a better story that it currently is. We'll probably never know for sure.
I'm not sure how far this guy got into the game, but there is a reason for nearly everything he questions, he just hasn't realized it because he hasn't had to use it, for instance, multiple drop zones in a mission would seem pointless to anyone who hasn't gone to complete all the tasks yet. He's also upset about the lack of a legendary boss fight at the end when the very lst mission you unlock is a harder battle with the final boss. He must have approached MGSV with judgmental prejudice from the start, or he's trying to get views. He calls the best, most well thought out and directed moments in the game forgettable and underwhelming. Did he skip EVERY CUT-SCENE? Did he even play the game???

he goes into more detail on why he dislikes this whole big boss prequel quadtrilogy in his ground zeroes review. youtu.be/NoY_fJ8ygbYalso this style of game is not new, this game is pretty much just 3rd person far cry 3/4/blood dragon but with base management. even on their terms the boss fights are just boring lackluster bullet sponges that you shoot at until they die. you spend so much time in the game doing boring stuff such as watching big boss ride into the open world on the helicopter every time, or spending long amounts of time traveling from place to place, or waiting for things to develop, or doing side ops that get repetitive very quickly, I don't think this game is bad just mediocre.

OH... Okay then. I thought he was just hated MGSV.
I have never been able to do the things I can do in MGSVs stealth sandbox, in Far Cry. I have never had this much control over stealth in a video game, without stealth being the main focus of the game (Splinter Cell) or it being a very small/optional portion of the game. Were people really expecting an open-world MGS games that DIDN'T borrow from the franchises that pioneered and popularized the genre? I can't tell if exceptions were too high, or a few major missteps are dragging the game down that much.
The heli rides weren't meant to be that frequent. From gameplay demos they make it sound like they wanted you to stay in the open-world for more than one mission at a time. With that said...
The fast travel via boxes saves alot of time, destroying anti air radar gives you more LZs, and simply hitting "Return to ACC" on the pause menu after a mission will get you back to the chopper via quick loading screen. That last one is a trick we shouldnt have to abuse, but waiting for your default heli is a bore, and I'm happy it's there. Doesn't excuse the shortsightedness though. I agree.
I won't even try to defend the long development times. I don't know if they were hoping to cut that time with micro-transactions or what but I will admit, I left the game on idol for a few hours to get a certain weapon (of which you don't ever use) that had a 24-hour development time.
The side ops can get repetitive if your doing them for sole sake of completing them. I won't lie, if your replaying them, they can get repetitive fast, but I found approaching each one with a unique perspective had even the most basic side ops feeling like full blown missions. There is always something to fulton in each mission.
The boss fights are fine accept for not having better intro/outro cut-scenes. It does require a bit of strategy. Shooting certain bosses in certain ways, or with certain weapons, will give you different outcomes, so while the skulls may be straight-up bullet sponges, I wouldn't generalize that criticism to every boss. Also the skulls are designed that way for a reason I won't spoil here, but you should really try to Fulton the skulls. Just saying.
I think this is a great game, just held back by a few design choices. Based on Hideo Kojimas track record, I find it very hard to believe they were HIS design choices.

in both far cry 3 and mgs 5 before infiltrating a camp you go to a high point and mark enemies with your binoculars and then you sneak into the camp and take out each guard one at a time until the camp has been taken over. the only difference being is that in metal gear you can kidnap people with balloons.
if they wanted you to stay in the open world for long amounts of time then they wouldn't have made good portion of the features accessible only from the acc.
the helicopter intro problem could be alleviated by just letting me skip them.
the fast travel boxes don't fix allot as you have to travel to the camp they're in and then sneak into said camp in order to gain access to them.
I probably wouldn't mind the side ops being so repetitive if i didn't have to travel such large distances to get to them. I really want to love mgsv but its boring open world and unfinished story are keeping me from doing so.

I almost never go to a high point, I let D-Dog mark the enemies as I approach.
What portion of the features, only accessible from the ACC do you mean? When it comes to actual on-ground gameplay I never missed customization and "Return to Motherbase" options.
I should point out that the active camo you eventually unlock is crucial to speeding things up, when you just need to run to the other end of a base, to get to the box delivery platform. I know you can't get it till later in the game but thats how alot of things are with MGSV. My heli takes about 10 seconds from being called, to pickup now becasue i upgraded it.
I mentioned it before, how the game is at it's best when you've put a significant amount of effort toward improving things that make things both faster and more fun.
It's why every time I see a review for this game rating it a 7/10 or below I have to ask if they actually completed the game, and if they did, did they actually play it, or power though each mission to see the end. As a person who was rushing the story to get a review out, I can tell you the experience is so fleeting that I rarely stopped to look around, therefore missing some of the finer nuances the experience has to offer.
By the end of the game, there were still so many unlockables to get, I put an extra 20 hours in just to get the best weapons. There is nothing like playing cat&mouse with a group of walker gear when you snipe their electric box from 200 yards, and watch them scramble to find out what happened. Then you call your chopper to pick you up in the middle of the base and coordinate between your heli, and buddy to swiftly clear out the base the Big Boss you are.

When you consider the power of some of the villains you face, it only makes sense that Big Boss, not just any ordinary solder, would have some super powers to his advantage as well.
I have a bandanna that gives me infinite ammo and silencer strength. Combine that with a silenced sniper rifle that can destroy any object in one shot, and take down a chopper or armored ground units in two shots, then a solar powered active camo that recharges by standing still. I've had lots of fun just using those tools in different ways.
