This will be the first time these versions have been released since they started the craze in 1996.

I don't know why anyone would buy Red or Blue when Yellow is Both in one.

Yellow still doesn't have all 151 Pokemon. Sure you get all the starters and the anime tie-in stuff but like back in the day, Yellow will have a distinct disadvantage compared to the other two. There is a way to get Mew in Red&Blue but not in Yellow. Then there is MissingNo. and the item multiplication exploits that can make Catchin em' All a bit less tedious.

It's been far too long since I've enjoyed the classic adventure as it was 20 years ago.
I love the simplicity of the first two games. It was deep enough to satisfy the hardcore RPG fan, but short and shallow enough that a the casual gamer could complete it without devoting tons of hours and having to sit through alot of exposition. I remember I could beat the Elite Four in a single playthrough provided the batteries held up. Oh BTW...
This time Pokemon won't suck our wallets of battery money!!! It seemed like a fair trade at the time because it was my parents money, but we likely bought tripled the retail price of the game in battery usage. lol Those were the days.
I remember when I was either 10 or 11 was about the time Pokemon had really blown up here in America. About the time Yellow came out. Never had I seen an obsession like this before. Sure everybody talked about different things when they were popular but between the anime, games, cards, and merchendising, as well as being the target audience, Pokemon was everywhere. Of course it all fizzled once people started using game sharks and the kids in the grade above mine started bringing books full of the cards to sell at achool. There was eventually a ban but I'll never forget the summer before all that and how I was the only kid i knew that was into the games. My first starter was Bulbasaur, and is still my favorite.

I like Bulbasaur... He's flammable Also, this means that Meowth will no longer be a rare commodity in the GTC...
