It's too bad. Between Disney being sticklers for cannon adherence and the fact that developers are commissioned to make Star Wars games based on their success with other franchises instead of their talent and passion for the subject material is whats going to stop us from ever having such a feature-rich Star Wars game. Believe me, I want to be wrong on this, and I hope Battlefront 2 will be everything Battlefront III should have been but the way it looks, it feels like Disney is going to hold alot back to stretch things for the long run.

What I Don't really get is why they would release the game the way it is now without adding in the content from The force Awakens, in a timeline like feature, like how BF2 had the different "eras" Unless of course they were just rushing it. I mean think about it, just from the perspective of a corporate suit. "We can cash in on TFA hype and Battlefront, it's a win win gentlemen!" And yet they didn't do it and blew it. It makes no sense to me.

EA said they are focusing only on the original trilogy for canon reasons. Considering Disney doesn't consider anything outside of the main movies and the clone wars cartoon as canon, DICE is left with a relatively limited creative freedom. It's more or less limited to battles we saw the majority of on-screen. That, and whatever Disney approves. They seem to have a tight grip on what happens with the universe now. So if there were any planets in Battlefront EA that we haven't see in any of the movies, don't worry, we'll see it in a movie very soon.

Makes me wonder if they are going to be making a clone wars themed battlefront style game in the future.' I shuddered a little when I thought of it.
