I'm starting a very daunting task... One video a day about a female character in video games. That's 365 videos on 365 characters. I want to start on March 31st (might be delayed if I can't find good music) and my plan is to keep them short and make a bunch one day a week.
I need your help! Name your favourite female characters in video games. You can name anyone you want for any reason, so badass, cool, not badass, normal, weird or sexy! Any reason! A short sentence or two telling me why you like this character would be helpful but not needed. When I get to the character you suggested in the series I'll give you a shoutout.
Oh also if anyone has a snappy name for it that would be awesome!

"A year of video game women we love" Can't NOT throw Zelda and Midna in there... (Also my waifu Ashei if you wanna talk about her for a bit ) Obvious other ones being Bayonetta and Samus for being all-round badass... How about Terra from FF6? She was pretty awesome I'm sure you already have the GoW ladies on your list If I think of more I'll come back =p

Obviously you have to consider Lara Croft but also one of my favourites, the master of unlocking, Jill Valentine!!

Ilona from Advanced Warfare. She marks the first time a female character felt in-place in a COD game and not just some kind of affirmative action to check that "female soldier" box. Look her up. Yeah, she is just a female version of the same guy you follow through the whole game, but she is a woman so yeah.
Kris from Pokemon Crystal. She's another first. In PKMN R/B/Y/G/S you never had a choice at to which sex you play as. It might seem like a monor addition and was proably inevitable but Crystal had Pokemon taking it's last step out of the niche it was still in on the video game front. PKMN started with the games and as the last form of PKMN media to acknowledge a female audience, it was a big step.
Linkle - because you should talk about her as much as possible and stay ahead of the game. Speculation is always fun. What are the chances she is a playable character from the get-go in Zelda U! Female Link.
Miranda Keys. Yeah, we know all about Coratana, and we know shes gonna be in this list and it's going to be boring because she is a blue AI we have had to take orders from or chase for literally, the entire MC saga. Miranda always came off as harsh and unrelatable so exploring her could be worth a shot just to maybe pull her out of the side character corner I see her in.
Élise de la Serre From Assassin's Creed Unity. Hey! You got 365 slots to fill so I'm doing my best. Elise is easy on the eyes and any video where I get to see a compilation of her I would watch lol.
Catwoman from Arkham City. It was a surprise that I actually liked the CatWoman sections of Arkham City as much as the Batman stuff. Becasue she was more grounded as a character, it mixed things up and helped pave the way away from Arkham into what was arguably the best game of 2014, Shadow of Mordor.
Joanna Dark. For sure, the first FPS I played as a woman in. I also didn't mind it. There is always a fear that playing as a girl will have be doing overly girly things. Stuff you would see in the charlies angles movies ya know. Best FPS with female protagonist ever.
Candy Suxx from Vice City. First porn star in a video game??? IDK, but shes worth is just becasue you get to play a roof-top hop mission on a motorcycle to get a pair of jugs displayed on the side of a building for the whole city to see for the remainder of your play through. Oh yeah!
The princess from that one game where you jump on turtles and go through pipes.
Lisa Trevor. From Resident Evil remake. Oh do I dread our encounters with "ole nasty" and her hunched over, menacing shuffle. Okay, enough of that.... Jill,Clair, rebecca etc. should make it too.
Meryl is expected from MGS but I wouldn't mind alittle more coverage on quiet. What's left to say? IDK, but shes worth putting on the list.

Thanks for all the suggestions! If you think of any more keep them coming! I want to have 100 characters and a paragraph or two written for each of them soon so I can start building a backlog to upload. Ilona from Advanced Warfare. She marks the first time a female character felt in-place in a COD game and not just some kind of affirmative action to check that "female soldier" box. Look her up. Yeah, she is just a female version of the same guy you follow through the whole game, but she is a woman so yeah. I actually forgot about her from Advanced Warfare. I really liked her and she got a little fight scene. Because of the sexualised nature of a lot of video game female characters I have to be careful where I put the younger girls because it doesn't feel right to have Rayne from Bloodryane then Clementine from The Walking Dead if you get me? This is a good suggestion, most Pokemon player characters are a blank slate but Kris was a first and had a cool design. Linkle will be talked about but after her game is released which I think is any day now so I don't have to worry about that. It's like Kara in the new Quantic Dream game, she can wait until after that games release. Totally forgot about characters like Lisa Trevor, she would make for an interesting pick.

Jade from beyond good and evil.
Alyx Vance from Half life 2. She is one of those special female characters who has a place in my heart for coming across like a real woman, albeit a tough one. She is confident and self sufficient, without striking the chord of the sterotypical "ice queen" that so many seem to potray in "strong women" in videogames. Sorry if i'm not getting my point across its late.

Not going to hit March 31st with these videos... Too many things happening and I wanted 100 videos written before I started and I only have 77 written. 77 is a lot but the only way I can release one daily is with a big backlog and I'll burn through that 77 pretty quickly.
