SPOILER FREE
Okay, I just got back from midnight showing and it was great.
I didn't like it as much as Batman v Superman but BvS is my all time favourite comic book movie so that wasn't gonna happen but I wish it did.
All of the characters were great except Slipknot but he was hardly in the movie and he didn't even get an intro. Enchantress could've been better, she starts off great but becomes a little silly towards the end.
Harley and Joker were easily the standout, Jared Leto has the chance to be the best Joker yet, his scenes were excellent. Harley wasn't as crazy as I would've liked or as smart as I would've liked but damn, she talks like Harley (kinda), acted like Harley and had some of the best scenes of the movie. The movie doesn't really let her loose but that's a symptom of being in a team movie, at least she had time to shine.
Katana could've been better, visually she was my favourite. The way she stood in the rain and held herself through the movie was perfect and her introduction was amazing. Problem is she only has stuff to do when the camera focuses on her. That's also kinda of a problem with all of the characters, they all feel a bit isolated at times.
David Ayer did a great job with the direction and writing but there was never that group moment that the Avengers, Guardians of the Galaxy or Batman v Superman had. It came close at the end but the action was shot in the middle of chaos so it was hard to appreciate what was actually happening because I was trying to keep track of everyone.
All in all I loved it. Lots of Joker, way more than what people would have you believe, good Harley, good Will Smith (his Deadshot was Will Smith outside of 1 or 2 moments,) could've been better villain and everyone else did their job.
Oh I almost forgot, Amanda Waller, she was great, second favourite character behind Joker. Seriously. She was intimidating, scary and damn good. Viola Davis was perfect. She even put on weight for the role which is almost unheard of for Hollywood actresses.
I highly recommend the movie and everyone should go watch it, assuming you like these movies, this one won't win you over... I'm looking at you JMMREVIEW one day, one day I will find a movie like this you will like and I'll make you watch it.
Also some reviews clearly lied about the movie, I'm too tired to track them down but they lied about it! One review said the scene with Joker lying down with all of the weapons surrounding him in a circle was cut... It wasn't, it was in the movie, I saw it. Proof that there's some sort of agenda against this movie.
