Rare isn't what it used to be. That's evident by a lot of things, especially Yooka-Laylee being made by ex-Rare employees at Playtonic Games. So this got me thinking. Would you be interested in seeing Playtonic Games make a new GoldenEye/Perfect Dark style game? They have several of the guys that have worked on those games working on Yooka-Laylee and I think the fan interest is definitely there for these guys to kickstart that project. They might be the only developers around who are willing to do it and can do it. Side question for JMMREVIEW do you record your Perfect Dark footage on 360 or Xbox One?

I wouldn't mind seeing them take a stab at an FPS. I'm not sure they have all the most crucial people to make true spiritual successor though. In a new article I'm writing for the site, I compare Perfect Dark to a puzzle game. More like Portal than COD. If portal can work today, so can Goldeneye.
It's great that Yooka Laylee is shaping up so well and it feels like a true Banjo sequel...
It's a double edged sword to market it as a Banjo spin-off of sorts and it's one of a few wAys this industry's past is holding it back. The whole idea that's what is new is better than what is old is likely the biggest reason why we never saw Timesplitters 4. By that logic, FPS as a genre was probably perfected sometime last generation. The art of go there, kill the enemies, push a button, repeat. It's perfect. Not really.

Great question Noxa, when I watched the announcement Kickstarter video for Yooka Laylee the first thing that went through my head was I wish they would do this for PD/GE. So I am sure that answers your question, as for recording I used to record on the 360 before Rare Replay came out but now I play/record on the Xbox One but there is no difference at all it is just more convenient for me to play on the Xbox One.
P.S. sorry I have been away for so long everyone I have so personal stuff going on. Hope to be back soon.
