If you could only play one fps game for the rest of your life what would it be ? some rules 1. It can only be one particular game. So for example you might pick Battlefield 1942 out of the battlefield series and not the series as a whole. 2. The game can be either modern or retro 3. You cant pick Goldeneye or Perfect Dark Have fun

Question: Can you play it with friends? If not then that makes the question allot harder to answer.
Since I can't say Goldeneye or Perfect Dark I guess I would play Far Cry 2. I can't speak for Far Cry 3 but i heard it's better. I in no way think that game would crack even my top 10 FPS games of all time but since the question is asking for longevity I know that Far Cry 2 was one helluva time suck when I played it. Between cheevos, a map editor, and an open world there is plenty to do. The gamplay resembles Modern Warfare a bit too much but at the end of the day there is lots to do in that game so it might work out.
Halo: Reach if I can play multiplayer with people for the rest of my life. I know as soon as some more posts roll in Ill want to change my answer but for not that's it.

In that case I think Ill just change my answer to TimeSplitters: Future Perfect. It's probably the closest thing to Perfect Dark gameplay wise and I could have a blast with friends with that game.

Crytek, the developers of Crysis own the rights to those games now. There have been rumors of a TimeSplitters 4 for what seems like years now. As of late there have been teases that a TimeSplitters HD Collection is in the works. Time will tell.

I forgot to reply to this thread!
If I cant have GE or PD I think it would be BF2MC on xbox or PS2 as long as I could play with friends, I have been playing a lot of it on PS2 lately

Probably Fallout 3 or TimeSplitters: FP. There's actually quite a big Facebook petition for TS4/TS HD Collection called 100,000 Strong for Timesplitters 4. It's gotten big enough that Crytek recently gave a mod team the go ahead to make a TS game. Can't say I'm crazy about it being on CE3, but I guess it's a pretty flexible engine. Brief article about the mod: link

So that pretty much means pc only? That sucks I mostly play console Yeah, but think of it this way. Crytek will probably use the mod to gauge interest in the franchise, and if it turns out to be popular you can bet Crytek will make TS HD collection/TS4 on console. It's beneficial for both PC and console players really.

I would be nice if they would hurry it up and get it out this year. I don't want to buy the next Xbox just to play an HD Collection that could run on current gen hardware.

I'd totally go for Duke Nukem 3D... Maybe... I didn't honestly play it a lot against other people except for my best friend, and he kept owning my ass with that damn grenade launcher, but it was always fun as hell to play

Considering the sheer number of mods and expansions for it, I would go with the original Deus Ex in a heartbeat.
