So, I don't really dabble in philosophy, since I can't really get my head around most of it. However, I've been really puzzled about something recently. You hear people arguing about violence in video games, and that's a little bit silly, because... come on. Have you watched any Hollywood blockbuster recently? About 80% of movies in my cinema are people killing other people. Games, books, movies. People killing people rendered in spectacular next gen graphics? This is all well and good. Someone having sex- BANNED.
This is basically saying "HEY! As long as we don't see anything to do with our primal nature, then it's all good!". So, you're telling me we accept things like the film 'Hostel'. Deranged men doing hideous things to innocent victims, but if a sex scene get's a little too detailed, we bring down 'Justice' on these monstrous delinquents? Sex is essential! In our daily lives! Our pure instinct is to just go out and shag everything! But the politicians, the righteous groups who think they're doing something for the young ones deny that!
It just really baffles me, and I can't understand why the human body, and our natural instinct is such a touchy subject! We do these things EVERY DAY, just as we fight each other EVERY DAY! Even from an early age, we are taught the ways of the world. Violence, conflict, love, attraction and yes, SEX! SEX SEX SEX! IT'S GREAT! So stupid! If anything, it's teaching us the opposite of who we are!
How media works:
Violence is terrible, but it's at the same time, essential! It helps us work out problems and disputes.
How nature works:
If you want to survive, you must work together. The ones who don't work together will die.
Isn't that how we evolved? We worked together, and so natural selection was all like "YO! GG BRO! YOU LIVE!".
If anything, we're working backwards!
Yes this is a ramble, and I'm sorry. I just had to vent. This whole RUDDY topic is ridiculous. (Sorry for the language.)
