I was looking around on the coming soon section on imdb and I saw scheduled to come out February 7, 2014 in America, Robocop "REMAKE" so it's not a new film in the Robocop world like dredd was which was a a actually a good movie, look I'm not condemning the movie but why a fucking remake, just make a kick ass action romp like dredd was, but I digress, it has gray oldman so that's always a plus...

I liked the first 2 Robocop movies. The 3rd one sucked. I can't see the 2014 remake living up to the style and atmosphere set up by the first movie. They made Detroit look like hell and that 80's future style was freaking awesome.

Yaknow, I think I might just have to check out the Robocop movies again... I honestly can't remember much about them... I think I was pretty young when I saw 'em

Yea. There was something there that people looking back on it fail to see. If the first terminator movie can work then Robocop is highly underrated. I'd buy that for a dollar.

I remember watching Robocop on a video tape... I remember it so clearly because I took it from my uncle's collection when my mum had said to never watch it, as it will scar me for life. But that's a bunch o' bullshit, 'cause I'm fine now... *Twitch*

First Trailer...
I'm withholding all judgment at this point. I've been suprised before but I also had my fingers crossed for the most recent Total Recall (2012) and it ended up not living up to my expectations. This is of course coming from the guy that thinks Total Recall (1990) is a fun movie to watch, even if not particularly good. Robocop (2014) looks promising.

honestly i hated this trailer, everything that makes a bad sci-fi remake in like total recall (2012), but I've been surprised before.

Being born in 1988 I barely caught tail end of the craze (if there ever was one) of the original Robocop film trilogy. Never the less I found this IGN article very interesting. "In the beginning there was a robot, a futuristic car and an amazing sci-fi cop movie. And that movie was 1982’s Blade Runner. As lowly studio script reader Ed Neumeier schlepped past the futuristic set where Ridley Scott’s classic tale of a robot-hunting cop was being filmed, Neumeier hit upon the idea of a robotic cop that busted humans." Read the rest here.
