New DS Model: Nintendo just announced the Nintendo 2DS. It is basically a 3DS with a "slate" design rather than the clamshell design of the 3DS. It's described as an "entry-level" model and will retail for $129.99. Ugly as sin. Wii U gets a Price Drop: Starting September 20th, the Wii U will retail for $300. That's $50 less than the Wii U's current price tag. This drops right next to the WWWiiU. That Wind Waker Wii U. That retails at the same price of $300 so if you are thinking about buying a WiiU this bundle is the best way to go in the current. Zelda:LBW Release Date: November 22. Yep. So, is anyone here buying a WiiU now? What do you thing of the new 2DS? Is this too little too late? Your thoughts...

Yeah. Is it not proof that 3D was just a gimmik to jump on the 3D bandwagon launched by Avatar? Any good lord is it ugly. Can it even fit in your pocket? I like the idea that those two screens were semi-protected by the clam shell design when not in use. This just looks fail all over.
The WiiU still needs to drop about $50 and include Wind Waker if Nintendo wants me to buy. For just $100 more I can get a true next gen PS4 that will probably last longer. Something tells me the WiiU won't be on the shelves for realativly too much longer at this point. We could have a new console from Nintendo in late 2015.

It is a vomit worthy electronic gadget but it may have it's uses. It's cheaper then the 3ds and one of the biggest problems with the 3ds was that the 3D made me nauseated quicker then thinking about my sister's Cesarean Section. But then there was a depth slider on the 3ds so that last point doesn't matter which means the only reason to buy it is that it's about £30 cheaper then it's counterpart.
Which makes me wonder: who were they aiming this at? Uni students? I guess that would make sense the students I know are people who would settle for a little worse if it saved them enough money to buy a weeks worth of Morrison's spaghetti hoops. But then, if they're settling, they could just buy a second hand 3DS, save £50 AND they could view the game in 3D if they wanted to.
It seems Nintendo haven't thought this through.

For me its go 3DS XL or go home. I had a DSi and then a 3DS. Now with the XL it would be hard to go back to anything smaller. Short of an extra thumb nub and Majoras Mask Remake its the portable N64 I always dreamed of. It's all but replaced my Wii. I got Ocarina of Time, Mario Bros. 1&3, Pokémon SoulSilver, Animal Crossing, Mario 3D Land, and every pre-Gamecube Zelda accept ALTTP all in my back pocket. Amazing.

I honestly don't have a problem with the 2DS. While it's not a successor =, by any means, It just feels like a 3DS, but cheaper, and without the 3d effect which never really had any amazing utilization in the first place. I think I might just buy it, instead of buying the 3ds. I did want to get to play the new Phoenix Wright game that comes out soon.
