I'm kinda like that but gen 2 is okay too. Its gen 3 and on that kill it for me. Like game freak asked "how do we top the likes of mewtwo and lugia for gen3?˝ Then they went and ruined it.

There's a very select FEW Gen 2 pokemans that get a free pass (like Pichu, Togepi, and Marill)
But honestly, they should have stopped at MewTwo.

Ill never be into it like I was. It's nostalgia more than anything now. None of me friends are into it, most the new Pokémon look unoriginal and weird, and I'm not 10 anymore so its not like ill have an anime to watch every Saturday morning to refuel my interest. Anyway, that anime sucked when it became apparent it was going to keep soft rebooting Ash as a character with every new game to come out, just to promote the new product. Still X&Y look promising.

I read somewhere that there was originally meant to be the first 250 pokemon, but then someone thought that may be too many for people to handle, so they took 100 of them out...
Also, I was never really that into the anime... I'd watch an episode or two now and then, but the games have always been awesome to me

I wasnt a fan of the anime in the way I was with Dragonball or a few others. It was more just something to watch as a companion to the Pokemon R/B/Y games. At the time is was as close to seeing these 2D sprites on a 3D plain as we were going to get and it helped us realize what they would actually be like had out Game Boys had the power to convey what the games were trying to present. It was fun to try and follow Ash's journey as close as possible in Pokemon Yellow too.
After he went to Johto and started catching/replacing all his Kanto Pokemon I began to see "what was going on here" and decided I wasnt going to watch anymore. It was dissapointing to see that all those cool Pokemon suddenly didnt meand jack to Ash anymore for no reason other than the writers in the show had to write in NEW monsters to get the kids watching the show to want to go buy the NEW game.

IGNs Review
They gave it a 9.0. That translates to about an 8.5 which is par for a PKMN game. I'm still interested if only because it's such technical leap from the style we've seen for the last 15 years. At the very least buy to show support for this kind of growth in Nintendo, and at most because I actually have a friend who's thinking of getting this.
