IGN put up an article today featuring what developers had to say about the Xbone and PS4 and how they compare on the technical side of things. The PS4 is around 50% faster than the Xbox One with the difference being "significant". (You will be able to tell in side by side comparisons.) Despite Microsoft swapping out the Xbones GPU to combat this, developers still insist it's not enough having this to say on the subject, "The clock speed update is not significant, it does not change things that much...Of course, something is better than nothing." Technically, PS3 has been the leader in sheer technical power this generation, still that doesn't translate to high sales numbers or a better library of games. Personally I can barely tell the difference between Xbox 360 and PS3 graphics but this entire generation PS3 has had a leg up if only for including a Blu-Ray drive from the get-go. The launch titles for the Xbone and PS4 are going to be nearly identical due to time constraints in development so we won't be able to see any significant difference in side-by-side comparisons until a bit farther down the road. Just about any way you swing it, it's getting harder and harder to deny that the PS4 is the better deal here. Yeah, I'm repeating myself, I know. I can't believe Microsoft could shoot themselves in the foot like this. With the PS3 you payed $100 more than the 360 any you got a "more powerful" console, and a blu-ray player. Now you pay that difference and you get a camera that goes on top your television, and inferior hardware.

We won't see any significant graphical differences between the platforms IMO. In fact, multiplats will be identical since they're always developed with the weakest system in mind.

Youre most likely right MMCC0203. The only way we will probably see any real difference is if something is developed from the ground up for the PS4 and later ported to the Xbone. Then I could see load times, graphics, etc. looking noticable.

50% faster? There will be a difference, I think you are only kidding yourself if you think there wont be. The best looking game on the PS4 will be different to the best looking game on the Xbone.

well maybe load times be faster in identical games like Need for Speed or Madden but the PS4 version of Need for Speed isn't going to look clearly better. It may load faster and run smoother with less chopping, tearing, clipping and frame-rate drops but side by side pictures will render them identical.

Why have 32 bits when you can have 64 bits

Yeah, and if I were Sony I would capitolize on this. When the professional geeks say your hardware is better than your main competition, pre-launch, its time start blast proccessing.

I think most people bought a PS3 as a blu-ray player. I used my PS2 mostly to play movies.

I've never really played FF. I think all I've played is the very first one on NES.
