Hey guys. I was looking around on Amazon and thought I would look up good ole Resident Evil and I found this... For anyone who doesn't know this is a port of the now classic Resident Evil Remake for the Gamecube. The only differences between this port and the Gamecube version is Wii Remote compatibility, it comes on one disc instead of the two, and is 480p capable, so it looks a bit better on your HDTV. You can play it with the Wii Remote and Nunchuck, a Wii Classic Controller, or the good ole Gamecube Controller. My Point: It's $20 brand new! That is damn cheap for what is considered one of the best games on Gamecube (and Wii for that matter) and what is sure to become a rarity very soon due to the Wii being discontinued, and the Gamecube version of this game is nearly impossible to find brand new, for less than $90. This port shipped quite a few years and unless Nintendo finally makes good on its Gamecube virtual console promises we may not get another chance to own this masterpiece of survival horror. Remember, Wii discs are backwards compatible with the Wii U as well so don't worry about being stuck with your Wii for eternity just to play this. And yeah I checked, it's £15 in the UK as well. That doesn't translate to what I would call "cheap" over there but it's still a good deal. Check it out. P.S. Not accusing anyone here of being like this, but if you have no interest in playing this, don't buy it. Give someone else a chance to play. Don't buy multiple copies and put the extras in a safe somewhere to collect dust and value just so you can sell them for a profit. Be better than that. Thanks.

You make a good point, I have it for the GameCube but it would be worth my while getting the Wii version because at some point I will get a Wii U...... when I say at some point I of course mean as soon as a new HD Zelda is out.lol I will also get the Wind Waker when its cheap, I see no point in rushing out to buy that considering I have played it to death already.

Well I don't think the wind waker will drop in price for a few years. I just think this game is too good to pass up. I wish they would port it to xbla.

Well I don't think it's a "Nintendo game" but yeah.
I think we are much more likely to get Resident Evil remake than that game on XBLA. Something tells me Ninty owns the rights to this remake as well as REZero and MGS Twin Snakes. The rights are tied in a knot for MGS due to developers being bought out and defunct so we will most likely never see that game on another console. It lives and dies with the Gamecube like THAT game of which we don't speak.
Resident Evil for Gamecube is going to go down in history as one of those games. In 10 years or so you will be watching the AVGN or equivalent reminiscing on this game. Like say Cobra Triangle today. You got to go back to the original console to play it. That's why I see this deal as a huge opportunity and wanted to share it with responsible sensible folk.

Wanted to bump this as the prices have remained for the most part, unchanged. Considering some of us have a Wii U now it's suggested you pick this up to play another classic on your new console. The GameCube version won't work on the Wii U.

I am in two minds about buying it, I have it for the Gamecube so I dont really NEED to buy it to play it. Another concern is that the Wii U will be one of the shortest lived consoles in history and Nintendo will launch a new console leaving the Wii U behind.

I bumped this thread because new copies of this game are numbered now. The fewer they are, the more expensive they will become. My amazon says they have around 20 left. I understand what you mean though.

Ubisoft had chopped all it's software prices for Wii U and 3DS in half. If that isn't jumping ship I don't know what is. I mean, it's not big news of the week anymore but NO big name publishers are putting out anything this year. Unless they fast track a new Zelda, it's likely 2014 will be the death of the Wii U. I would say the Gamecube suffered this same kind of dry spell but it's not the same at all. There is nearly ZERO 3rd party support now. It's extremely curious to me what Nintendo is going to do.
My advice: Keep your Wii. It plays your Gamecube games and the above mentioned. At this rate, I won't be surprised if that previously announced Zelda hack n slash gets shelved.
