Nope. I'm 360 till the bitter end. Then. Maybe. A PS4. Between firmware updates and hardware failures it's smart to wait.
Remember the blades interface for the Xbox 360 dashboards? A lot of people don't. A lot of people never experienced the RRoD either. I may not wait 3 years for the PS4 Slim with an all new OS as I would have done for the Xbox 360 had it not been for Halo and Perfect Dark, but time has told...
Late adopters reap the most benefits while the earliest end up buying the console twice.

I've heard PS4 is plagued with something similar to the RRoD (Also, I remember the blades interface... Had mine set to Halo skin)

Late adopters reap the most benefits while the earliest end up buying the console twice. Sony likely won't change the UI. The PS3 has been out seven years and the XMB hasn't changed at all. That said there will be inevitable hardware updates and price drops like you said. There really is no reason not to wait. The launch lineup for the PS4 is extremely weak IMO. The first big game (Infamous) won't even hit until mid-2014. Regardless of whatever happens, I won't be getting a next gen console. Current gen support will likely persist for 2-3 more years, and most of my gaming time these days is spent on PC/Steam anyway. I don't think I've ever been more apathetic for a new console gen. I'd like to blame it all on the crappy business practices that have been developed over the course of this gen. The fact is, I'm just losing interest in gaming.

The only reason you're losing interest in gaming is because the majority of games these days don't give us reason to care... Time after time it's the same old recipe churned out over and over again

For me it's a lot of reasons. Most of my friends aren't playing as much as they used to if at all. Putting my money, time, energy toward other things to further my life has taken a toll too. The bottom line is games are usually only as fun as the times you have playing them with friends. I have no friends interested in all this stuff so I have no interest in next gen. Oh well.
The next Goldeneye, Tony Hawk, Zelda, Halo, etc. these things don't interest me anymore. All these franchises are dead or have long worn out their welcome. The Next Zelda may be a knock out but beyond that there is nothing pulling me toward next gen.
OT: I don't like that trailer. There are some problems I have with it and how it's a shining example of how commercialized the video game industry has become. 10 years ago I wanted the boom in popularity the industry has now received. Today I just wish it would go back to being the nitch it was. I don't care if I have to stay in the closet to avoids the man-child label. It's better than seeing Megan Fox and the cast of Glee in video game commercials. Sorry if I'm hating. I have personal issues with the subject. I'll just leave this stuff here...

Oh and how about:
Watching this thinking Perfect Dark Zero is gonna ROCK:

No the ones I posted where out of what I call the golden age of video game advertising. It was silly before that era and a bit too high budget today. Only a handful of game today still demand you attention the way that Gears and Halo trailer did and I was never so close to buying a PS3 than the day I saw that PS3 Ladies and Gentlemen trailer. Epic.

Although I love the H3 and GoW ads, they're misleading IMO. Games trailers should always have...you know... gameplay.
This was perfect:

Wouldn't argue with you one bit on those. I'm just saying while all but the two you posted are misleading, the ones I posted get you excited and interested. The last 4 years of COD commercials as well as this PS4 ad is not only misleading but doesn't get me excited.
It advertises games for the sake of games. Not a deep, emotional experience or even shallow, exciting action. It's just "I can bash your skull in with a mace, run you off the road, and shoot you with my PS4. Yay." Again, I don't care that Sam Worthington and Johna Hill are playing Modern Warfare 3.

Modern Gaming Industry = Modern Hollywood. Both are out of ideas and most new releases are based off of old books nobody's heard about, or are "experimental" releases where they try something slightly different, and it may or may not work out good. I'm pretty mad I wasn't born in the age of virtual reality though. That'd be cool.

On the subject of Hollywood, when 2015 comes around Hollywood is going to crash.
