Easily observable though (relativistically)... I'm not holding out much hope for your theory

Also, what evidence do you have for your theory? If you have none then it's a hypothesis

Any and all theories are open to debunking, and I personally would love to see people openly encouraged to try and debunk them, because to debunk a theory (Especially the big ones mentioned earlier) would mean you would have to learn something new about them (And therefor, learn something new about the universe we live in)

As I say, a theory is something that is currently observably true, until something is observed that the theory doesn't account for, then it is debunked, then we re-build a working theory

So MMCC if I said I had a theory that there is a teapot in orbit around the moon and you can't prove it wrong (which you cant) then that's a fact? You can't disprove god either is his existence fact then too? The problem is that's not a theory. It's a guess or a hypothesis. If it were a theory it would be backed up a large body of empirical evidence (Bertrand Russell is awesome btw). I think you missed the entire point of my original post as I refuted that "you can't disprove god" point directly. Let me rephrase: Is it possible that we are living in a matrix? Certainly. Is it possible that God exists? Perhaps. Could an invisible rainbow-farting Unicorn undetectable by all known scientific instruments be living in my backyard right now? Sure. Do we have good reason (evidence) to believe any of that is the case? Absolutely not. Like I said we can play the "What if X" game all day, but in the end if something doesn't have empirical evidence to back it up we have absolutely no reason to believe it's true.

but in the end if something doesn't have empirical evidence to back it up we have absolutely no reason to believe it's true. But duuuuuuude, you gotta have faiiiiiith! Just kidding, sorta... If you yourself believe something to be true, then that's reason enough to believe it's true... Just don't go on believing it to be true if it becomes proven false or even if the evidence is stacked against it. There MIGHT be a teapot in orbit around the sun, who knows, maybe Chuck Norris round-house kicked it there, and you are fully entitled to believe that... Just don't go around yelling at people that there is for-sure-realsies a teapot in orbit and that it's and immutable fact.

YOu know why I suggest it right? I either that or modify this board for science/philosphy.

yeah that might work better instead of a whole new board
