There is already a couple of threads in the Survival/Horror board. This thread is just a survey. Who is looking forward to this?

One of those maybe was me. I have since changed my answer and given myself 10 lashes. This is Mikami after all, and touted as the spiritual successor to Resident Evil 1-4.

I think out of principle we should all buy this game on day one.
That way the people in the industry cant say "the reason no one makes survival horror games is because they dont sell"

sorry jmm but I cant see myself buying this day one until I see a review but from the gameplay I have seen it looks like more like an action game than a traditional survival horror plus I prefer silent hill over anything else.

If it's an over the shoulder survival/horror I Will be pleased. I never played a bad game from mikami. He is the godfather of survival/horror. They let him build his own team from the ground up for this.

I don't think it will be a bad game hell it looks better than most of the shit we call games being released personally I just don't care for it and I could change my mind but so far nothing about this game really make me excited.

I could change my mind but so far nothing about this game really make me excited. Dam it must take a lot to get you excited saintoffortune!lol I watched a gameplay trailer a few weeks ago that had survival horror elements, there were parts where the game messed with your head. It showed you walking down a corridor and when you get to the end it would start you at the beginning again. I havent seen a game mess with your head like that since eternal darkness on the gamecube. I understand where you are coming from saintoffortune it is better not to get your hopes up in case you are disappointed. For me this is a "vote with your dollars" thing (pounds in my case) buying The Evil Within on day one and not RE6 sends a message.

I guess I have kind of been spoiled by the silent hill series I mean those games gave me nightmares and on harder difficulty's a monster could kill you in a couple of hits but I just cant see myself saying this game gave me nightmares because it doesn't look all that scary. and about me being hard to please I only buy a couple of games a year because most new games don't do anything new other than trying to find new and innovative ways to be shit oh and about something else unrelated I bought dead rising 3 and holy shit it doesn't suck but I am prepared for the time when Capcom inevitably fucks the series up like they always do with their franchises.

Well I just hope you don't brush it off completely keep an open mind, it looks more like a Silent Hill game than a Resident Evil game at this point! Its strange, I just assumed a Silent Hill fan would be excited about this because of how similar the two games look.
Oh and about Dead Rising 3, just wait for Dead Rising 3 Case Zero, Dead Rising 3 Last Vegas, Dead Rising 3 Blood Bath DLC etc...

I don't have to worry about dead rising 3 dlc because there is already a season for four dlc packs and it comes with one of the day one edition dlcs and all those four dlc packs gives a backstory to characters you don't see much of in the main game before they die and since most people don't care about the dead rising storyline I don't think a lot of people a going to be buying the season pass but I know I wont because while it looks fun I can say I care to much about the story either and down the road more than likely they are going to start selling the dlc you get with the day one edition of the game.

This is a very cinematic looking game, made even more cinematic with the now confirmed option to turn off the HUD if you so desire. This would require you to look at your characters posture in order to tell how badly he needs medicine. They said:
"It's planned so that you can turn off the life gauge, tutorial and interaction icons." via Twitter.
Very Resident Evil like.

It should be off by default with the option to turn it on.
