The issue with PCs for me is the freezing. There are so many variables. Up until the most recent generations, when a console was playing a game that was ALL it was doing and crashes, frame-rate drops, etc. rarely happened on better games like Halo. The only time I EVER got a freeze was during extended play sessions spanning 5+ hours. With PC games the first thing I do is start tinkering with the settings for the perfect resolution etc. then I start playing and it's about a 50/50 chance weather or not the game will freeze up or start acting wonky within the first 2 hours of play. Most games do this for me. Graphics cards, sound cards, processors, RAM, etc. have all been swapped tinkered exchanged and the like to make my computer behave like a console in that, with nearly ZERO technical issues. I have owned 4 computers in my life and all of them have been on the high end side of retail machines with good graphics cards. Other than The Sims, RTS games, and built-for-pc FPS games, most of the best games are on consoles and work best there unless you count emulators, adabtors and all the stuff you can do to again, turn you PC into an advanced console AKA an N64.

That's impressive... I just shot smiley faces in the walls, a couple of smilies in a row, then a smiley outta remote mines and sat and watched my friends screen

After a while the bullet holes disappeared.
You could also do strange things with mines in PD...

Those explosions are so epic. Why don't more FPS games have mines and explosions like that.

Relatively modern hardware and a decent dedicated graphics card usually ensure a solid gaming experience on PC. Sure you may have to tweak resolution, AA, detail settings, etc to balance out graphical fidelity and fps, but that's part of what makes the PC experience great IMO; the platform (if you can even call it that) is completely open and anything can be tweaked to your heart's content. As for where the best games are, that's highly subjective. There are plenty of great exclusives on PC as well as console. I will say that, when it comes to multiplats, PC almost always gets the best version of a game (unless it's a horrible port); there's the potential for 1080p+ resolutions as well as higher framerates depending on one's hardware. Additionally, the modding scene (particularly for games like Skyrim) opens a whole new world of possibilities at no cost to the end user. Some people like the simplicity of consoles while others prefer the open nature of PCs. I and many others happen to like both. In the end we're all gamers enjoying the same hobby.

Aye, bullet holes disappeared after not so long, but I don't think it was a time limit thing more than an "only so many bullet holes at once" thing IIRC... Either way it worked and I blew his face up and it was hilarious

I wont argue with anything you have said, there are games on PC I love but I think it is the simplicity of the console I like. Also a playing on a big (or just bigger) screen with a controller helps too. It may sound weird but I think its more psychological than anything else...

I use my wired 360 controller for about half the games I play on Steam.

Using your xbox controller on PC feels just fine if the game is made for proper controller support... I use my 360 controller for all my emulators too... Only one it feels weird on is the N64... Also, speaking of screen, my PC is hooked up to my 42" TV... I don't actually have a monitor lol... It's the same TV I use to play my xbox
