It will be hard to top the original but I look forward to seeing them try.

Man, I dunno... It's clearly humour in a completely different vein than the first one and I don't know that it'll fit... I mean, I'll likely watch it anyway, but my hopes aren't as high as they should be

At first I was like "There is no way they are going to top the first film." Then I saw the trailer and thought "This looks so stupid. There is just no way they are going to top the original."
Then I saw this.
So I was like, "Man that trailer makes the movie look so stupid." So I went and watched the new trailer again and thought "Man that trailer makes the movie look so stupid."
My point is it's too early to tell. I hope they have more verbal gags like the first film did, I'm seeing alot of action and character quips in the new one and I hope it doesn't feel like 50 year old actors playing 30 year-old caricatures of characters. I want it to feel natural and it's just feeling silly right now.
It's mostly Jim Carry. He been playing the exact same character in every single one of his comedy movies since Me, Myself, and Irene and I think I'm seeing that here on a sub-conscience level and it's keeping me from enjoying it. Plus the hair cuts look off this time.

They do look pretty old and I have to agree about his hair! A pretty small thing to complain about but they could have given him a wig.lol

Sometimes I wonder if Carey is burnt out and bitter about the fact that he's an Oscar worthy actor that can't win an Oscar. He has a stellar talent but I wonder if he's just punking us now.
