It was only a matter of time but the next 3DS model is announced. The changes: Improved 3D function to allow the effect to be viewed from more angles. Improved CPU - Though we don't know how that will improve gameplay. Longer Battery Life. C-Button for dual analogue control.
Will you be upgrading or finally buying a 3DS with these new models? Is it too little change?
Personally it's too little to upgrade. Most games play great and for long enough on the current 3DS but if you've yet to buy one and are looking to, maybe hold out until 2015 when this thing comes out.

Personally I am at the stage where the next new games system I buy will be a next gen console, not a handheld. Its crazy how I am still 50/50 PS4 Xbone!

I'm feeling for 75-25 between the two. A year down the road, both on paper and practice, the PS4 is a better choice and for the first time in nearly a decade, I actually have a real-life freind with a PS4 that desperatly wants me to get one, and considering I'm already on the fence... well you know.
With future PS4 exclusives like No Man's Sky, Everybody's gone to the Rapture, and BloodBorne the future of the PS4 looks promising.

No Man's Sky is the one thing that would really be trying to grab me from the other side of the fence and pull me over... I'm 75/25 in favour of xbox mostly 'cus I have so many friends that play it that I would regularly play games with as it currently stands

OT: I probably won't buy this 3DS because if you think about it, it's just the N64 expansion pack all over again. Nobody's gonna buy another 3ds just for compatibility of a few games and a few extra features. Its either failure or what's to become the softest new console launch in history. After all, it does tick all the boxes for being an entirely new console.
OfT: If No Man's Sky truly is what it claims to be, it will revolutionize the entire gaming landscape from the inside out.

OffT: No Man's Sky makes destiny look like a joke I am with Xargen tho, most of my friends are now on Xbox One and the 360 had far more exclusives so I cant see why it will be any different next gen.

I think even the likes of Kojima could be swayed to go Xbox exclusive if Microsoft wrote a big enough check to the right people. I think that happened (at least with Call of Duty) a few times with the Xbox 360 and thats one thing that gave it the edge but so far it seems to be reversed. It doesn't seem games are as big of a priority for Microsoft this time around.
I don't mean to just close-mindedly trash on Microsoft. As tempted as I am to play Halo 2 Anniversary, thats the only exclusive drawing me toward the $400+ console. The rest of the known exclusives are underwhelming. Most of what I saw for Xbone at E3 looked like Xbox Live Indie games and Sunset Overdrive looks like Microsofts answer to Infamous. No Man's Sky looks to be revolutionary, and the rest of the PS4 exclusives look closer to hard core games rather than stuff Microsoft seems to be experimenting with

About COD: It wasn't exclusive but it might as well have been. Like Destiny or MGS5 on ps4. Every COD was advertised as being better on X360. Either by exclusive access to certain dlc where PS3 had none or by early access to in-game content. It was always showed off at Microsoft's e3 etc.
On Perfect Dark: Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. My Xbox 360 has Perfect Dark. If Perfect Dark 2 comes to XONE, and it's worthy of its name, then I'll buy an XBONE. I bought a 360 to play PDZ and was disappointed. Won't happen again.

Saying the PS3 had more/better exclusive games is a losing argument.

... I didn't say PS3 had better exclusives, IMO it didn't. But the PS4 is a different story. Time will tell. Not buying anything for a good long while.

My argument is that the Xbox 360 had more/better exclusives so the Xbone probably will too. It's a genuinely difficult decision for me to make, I also have a few friends who have the PS4 but I need to make my mind up in early 2015

For me. My next generation purchase is more between the Wii U and PS4. There just isnt any exclusives on Xbox One that are that appealing to me. Short of The Master Chief Collection, which I could see myself getting bored with in a couple weeks, nothing is pulling me towards Xbox. PS4 on the other hand is initially a better deal and depending on exclusives, could be a better console down the road. Bloodbourne was created from the same people that made Dark Souls series. Same director.
