It's expected we'll be getting a new trailer for both Episode VII and Battlefront before the end of the week! In the latest Star Wars news. EA Access will be giving Xbox One owners a chance to play Battlefront earliers than the rest of the platforms. How much earlier? Well, they haven't announced that yet. We should have the answer soon. This week is Star Wars Celebration, after all.

I'm not up on the whole pay to play early thing. I mean, if the game looks really really good and not the expected Battlefield clone, and it's a month early I might consider paying if it's cheap but most likely this game will be worth full price on launch day at it's very best.
I guess I really, really want to be surprised by everything Star Wars this year but it's hard to see where Battlefront wins. It's either gambles by being unapologeticly stuck on the old Battlefront gameplay, or it's a Battlefield clone. Disney picked DICE to do this because they seen most of the staple elements of Battlefront in Battlefield like sold FPS gameplay and vehicle combat.

Pay to play early is just the new "pre-order bonus" of the next generation.

I just hope it's not a "rank up sooner by subscribing to EA Access and play Battlefront Early" I really don't want Battlefronts online to be about ranking up and unlocking new things. IDK.

I hope there are no unlocks, they ruin games imo, the whole reason I liked battlefront is because you play as a regular soldier in a huge battle. I think this would be a good game to play together

Battlefront 2 had unlocks though... They weren't hard to get and were a hell of an upgrade. I wouldn't mind the same method being implimented tbh

I honestly cant remember unlocks, I haven't played in years. All I remember was at some point you unlocked a "hero" you could then select to play as Darth Vader etc next time you spawn in. That wasnt really an unlock just something that happens while playing.

unlocks aren't a bad thing. You just need to make sure that new players aren't going to be screwed over simply by being new.

Yeah, it's important in any game that you feel powerful from the start. If your presented wit a huge time-suck of a latter at the very beginning of the game just to meet the status quo then whats the point. I'm mostly have certain RPGs in mind when saying that though. I'm turned off by any game that asks you to invest ten hours of dull gamplay just to get to the fun stuff.

The unlocks in Battlefront 2 were like, when you were the regular troop, and you got 12 kills with the rifle without dying it gave you a bonus thing, and once you got it like, 8 times or something it started giving you an elite rifle, which was 3-round-burst fire, accurate as all hell and pretty hard hitting too... You got things like quick stamina regain, damage reduction and damage increase for getting points in general... The one I never unlocked was the fly-by-wire rocket launcher though

Oh yeah, if you got enough of them, like, 50 or whatever, you got to start the game with them, you just had to swap your rifle out and back in again

No space battles? Maaaaaaaaaaaan I loved space battles... Also I remember WAY back when Battlefront 3 was originally announced and they had seamless transitions between land and space battles... Also, no prequel levels means no Darth Maul, who tbh was my favourite hero to play as... My favourite team was also the Republic's clone army, which I'm assuming is also not making a return due to no prequel stuff... I have now set myself up for a bit of disappointment =(
