I really want to keep an open mind here. At least till we see some gameplay. My initial reactions to all of this info though...
Yeah, it would be funny if they show it off with no ADS and plays just like the first two, but with so many expected things not included in the game I can't help but feel a little disappointed.
I'm getting the feeling they spent so much time focusing on the original trilogy more for Episode VII hype. Most games that don't have a single player arnt meant to last. I think EA is banking on the Battlefront name, Disney is banking on the original trilogy time period, and Battlefront 2015 is shaping up to be (at worst) a high budget version of one of those mobile tie-in games that come out right before a blockbuster movie to make a quick dollar and get people hyped. The difference here, it the game is $59.99, and has much better graphics.
This is not the Battlefront were looking for.

I give it to around December 2015 for them to announce space battles DLC for an extra $15 just in time for christmas... Yeah, and a Star Wars expansion pack for The Sims 4. Edit: I'm sure we'll get space battles in Battlefront 2 and ground to space battles in Battlefront 3. You know, so $200 we finally have what WAS in Battlefront III and SHOULD have been in Battlefront 2015. P.S. I think I'm gonna call it "Battlefront EA" from now on. I told my concerns to my wife yesterday and she said "yep, that sounds like EA to me" she was burnt by The Sims 4. The lack of basic features found in previous games and the wacky art style was a real turn off and Battlefront EA looks like graphics and sound are all thats really going for it.

I'm really disappointed guys.... DICE went into developing the new Battlefront game with a checklist. A clear, cut n' dry list of things that NEED to be in the game to please fans of the first two games. Space battles, Heros, a saga spanning campaign, beautiful next-gen graphics, and pretty much everything seen in this... It was heartbreaking when Lucas Arts was shut down thus killing any hope for Battlefront III or any great Star Wars game on the last generation of consoles. Now were starting this generation out on a pretty much an online-only Battlefront Lite. WHY??? People keep saying that this is a new generation of Star Wars built by "the fans" but I'm not sure that's not just a cheap marketing phrase built in the attempt to keep the real fans calm as they experience new changes in the classic franchise and lore. The warning signs are right in front of us but a shot of a few familiar faced steer our eyes away from the trouble brewing behind us. Lucas Arts closing, and the Expanded Universe being confirmed as non-canon were notable. It's being made extremely obvious that Disney sees Star Wars as more of a financial opportunity and it's getting hard to see a positive outcome when everything originally genuine is being watered down to get an idea of how much they have to provide to get us to pay for it. They are banking on the hopes that a population starved of "quality" Star Wars games, movies, toys, will shell out the cash in an attempt to recapture some of the magic they felt in their childhood. It's been a decade since the last Star Wars movie and about that time since the last quality game. Disney's beginning to find out that bringing back a few actors from the "good Star Wars movies" and playing that iconic score has people posting the "take my money" meme. Now they just got to reel in the money fish. They know this now. It's confirmed, Star Wars is the best bait in the world. I'm going to go see the new Star Wars movie this year. I'm interested to see what they do with these characters for better or worse. I'll see this one film. I can't speak for the spin-offs and sequels. Disney has confirmed that the franchise is to be an annual released series, starting in 2015. Like the Marvel Universe, I'm going to experience overload and burn out within 5 years. I hate this. I guess I can call my parents now, and tell them I finally understand how they feel about the Rocky series.

Well the footage in my last post was of the long canceled Star Wars: Battlefront III. Space Battles are confirmed to NOT be in the new game. By space battles of course I mean flying a starfighter, in space, against large command ships and dog fighting with other starfighters. A staple of any Star Wars movie, and an essential part of any game in which you fly a starfighter.

I'm very much like Jim Sterling when it comes to this game, which is wondering how far EA is going to try and milk the game with DLC and other stuff
P.S I've never heard of Battlefront until this one.

I might invest in it after it's been released for a while, and I've seen the reviews and look of gameplay because I enjoyed the star-wars multiplayer mod for COD4.

Was watching this podcast from IGN, and in it, they were pointing out the decline in audience expectations as publishers and devs keep holding back more and more to see exactly what players will pay for. Destiny, Rainbow Six Siege, Titanfall, and now Battlefront. None of them deliver on either singleplayer and multiplayer offerings. I predict the sequels to all these games will sell us by having the features and modes we expected from the first game, and they might retroactively sell more of the first game that way. This is one of those rare occurrence where IGN arnt being a bunch of politically correct fanboys and actually pointing out a hugely flawed model that I hope people won't fall for. Right now, people are starved for games on current-gen consoles, and will likely buy all these games because it's all thats available. Because all publishers see is $$$, this is communicating to them that you don't need the long expected campaign, co-op, multiplayer, etc. that used to be a common in last gen games. Thats kind of the reason why these ports of last-gen games are selling so much more. They usually come in collections that offer several single player campaigns and more bang for your dollar rather than yet another multiplayer experience that will hook you for a few weeks then leave you wanting more. Just a theory.

Why so much hate? Well look at the chart... Even with the added 'Reason and Notes' section, the proof is right there in green and red.
