So like Halos Forge mode but you can create single-player scenarios in it and play through them alone or with friends. I'm excited for this. I can't wait to remake some Goldeneye levels Doom Style.

Finally a new FPS game with a map maker! Day one buy for me. Can't wait to bite into this game. A decent campaign, competitive multiplayer would have been enough by today's standards. A map maker that allows you to populate it with enemy spawns is exciting. We've seen a lot of undead monsters and imagining a re-creation of certain Goldeneye levels with a zombie apocalypse theme is reeling. I can already imagine how many versions of The Pillar of Autumn there will be.

I think this might be the game our community has been waiting for (for 3 years) I think it would be great for some community fun nights. I know Greenfire32 would like the idea of a map maker but the problem is a lot of people from this forum like Greenfire have moved away from consoles to get a PC.

But many of them have current gen consoles as well. I know I can have just as much fun if one person commits compared to 10 people did. The last few games I played along side people were MGSV and Fallout 4. Those were single-player games but it was still fun chatting with other people as we were playing. Last multiplayer game I did that with way a Halo Reach. I'm not getting my hopes up with Doom but if there enough content to satisfy a singular experience than any company is just icing on the cake. On the Alpha: The map I've played in the Alpha has me confident that id is going to deliver a solid experience with Doom. As far as technical performance goes, what they showed at E315 was launch worthy, and what I expereinced in the Alpha was the same. That's saying alot for an Alpha. I'm not saying it's going to be GOTY. There is just no way of predicting that based on what little we've seen. The gameplay reminds me of a faster paced old school FPS, but it's not Goldeneye. In my experience I rarely stopped running for anything, never aimed, and what they had in place for scorestreaks were VERY welcome. Just a bunch of guys running around corridors blasting each other with shotguns, then a demon dual wielding mini guns drops in and raises all kinds of hell. It was fun, but there wasn't enough for me to have too much of an opinion beyond just quoting myself. id Software needs to prove Doom can be it's crazy-fun self in practice, but compete with the AAA titles in presentation. I am very happy with the focus on multiplayer, and secondary focus on the map editor, but a solid single-player experience is what Doom needs to give it legs. Marketable personality that stands out from the latest COD, but also doesn't step too far back into it's obscure PC-centric roots is what it needs. I really don't want this to be a one-off game like Wolfenstein when it's doing so many things I like. I'm just kind of taken by the fact that there is no ADS, regenerating health, sprinting, and it seems the game heavily encourages you to keep moving and shooting rather than stopping to regenerate health and avoid fire. Well I do have an X1 and WiiU, but I'd be lying if I told you my PC wasn't my main gaming scene now Regarding map making, I think I'm STILL burned by how piss-poorly Farcry 3+ have handled it's user created content. That and I just don't have 12 hours to burn in front of a screen anymore

Greenfire is like Beatlejuice. You gotta say his name three times for him to show up.
If they make Easy to just snap pieces together than I think I will probably be able to create a lot of cool things. I already have some ideas for how to put new twists on levels from earlier first-person shooters as well as some new ideas. I really budget my free time. Lol
