Not the most exciting list (except for the rare replay games) my question to everyone is what games would you make backwards compatible if you had a choice? I would like to see the Metal Gear HD collection and the Hitman HD collection made backwards compatible, the whole point in those collections is to preserve the games. Full list of games: A Kingdom for Keflings A World of Keflings Alien Hominid HD Banjo-Kazooie Banjo-Tooie BattleBlock Theater Defense Grid Geometry Wars Evolved Hexic HD Jetpac Refuelled Kameo Mass Effect N+ Perfect Dark Perfect Dark Zero Small Arms Super Meat Boy Toy Soldiers Toy Soldiers: Cold War Viva Piñata Viva Piñata: TIP Zuma Those are just the games preview members have access to right now. According to the video above there will 100+ at launch. Personally, I'm waiting for Reach and the console exclusive BF games (1943 and BC1).

^ That was the only list I could find so far, I will update it when we find out what they are. Do people still play 1943 and BC1?

I really hope they allow backwards comp for borderlands 2 and the pre sequel but sadly that more than likely won't happen seeing as how the publishers haves control over it and 2k would more than likely rather just force people to buy the handsome collection. Watch the video on the first page of the thread, goldenedgegaming.com/post/11714/threadThey play borderlands 1.

its really convenient for gearbox and 2k mainly because they really have had no plans to port the first borderlands over to next gen consoles. and also seeing as how bethesda aren't greedy we will more than likely see fallout 3, fallout new vegas, oblivion, and skyrim get the backwords comp treatment.

The cream rises to the top.
A game doesnt sell so well or review so well because it's bad...
So in general, and high selling 360 games and highly rated games should be backwards compatible without question.

I mean all video games are art and deserve a chance at preservation. It should go without saying that the Gears, COD, Halo, scrolls, fallout, gta, etc. Should get backwards compatibility simply to up the value of the console. Can you imagine a tv spot that only advertised the Xbox Ones backwards compatibility? It would sell so many consoles with footage from all the best games from last gen.
Those two games you mentioned where far from what I would call low scoring on the review side of things. This and last generation had so many hidden jems that should have been rated higher and sold more.
Might finally pick up the relatively low scoring, low selling, game of the year that is, Shadow of Mordor this week.
I just want to see lots of indie and XBLA titles make the jump.

I think it's the opposite for me. Yeah, I do buy a new console for the future titles that are set to be released on it. I would say that. It's WHEN I buy a new console that has almost ALL to do with backwards compatibility. If Xbox One had backwards compatibility right at launch, I would probably have owned an Xbox One for 2 years now, and be complaining about why there arnt more new games coming out on the console.
Instead I have been relatively content with the two Assassin's Creed games, COD, and Halo Collection I got with the console 9 months ago, as well as Resident Evil and State of Decay I've bought since. I still haven't bought GTAV, Shadow of Mordor, Witcher 3, and Arkham knight. Lots of games for the Xbox One by the end of 2015 for sure.
My main complaint and observation is how when I'm not playing an XONE exclusive or streaming movies, I'm still playing my 10 year old Xbox 360 hardware, while my Xbox One is remaining a "highlights of 2014" library. Thats all set to change now, but I can tell you backwards compatibility made selling my Xbox Original, for an Xbox 360 painless, and thats a HUGE selling point for any game who has experienced the pain that comes with the wisdom of appreciating what you have. I've sold away some great titles in the past. I'm wiser now.

I'm wiser now. well in order for a game to get the backwords comp treatment its needs to be approved by the publisher which means allot of last gen games are going to stay on the last gen which is why i won't trade in my 360. also all of the games you mentioned are either available on last gen, remasters, or came out very recently and only two out of all of those games are next gen only.

Advice: Never trade in your 360.
My point in naming those games was to show that Xbox One does already have a solid library of games. (Just nothing that interests me.) I mean, let's think about this for a second. We waited two years before titles like COD4 and Halo3 came to Xbox 360 to really boost the quality of it's libary. We had about as many solid game by then as we do now. For every Oblivion, there is a Witcher 3, for every COD2, there is a Advanced Warfare, for every PGR2, there is a Forza Horizon. I'm just saying, multigenerational library or not, Xbox One is actually on par with 360 at this point and backwards compatibility is going to try it's best in driving that point home.
I've said it before and I'll say it again. With so many people reviewing games these days, the 9.5 aggregated scored games are all but extinct. Too many people giving good games bad scores for attention. I would suggest inflation. A 9.3 is now an 9.6, an 8.5 is a 8.8 etc. What else can we do?

Publishers saying no to having their games available as backwards compatible is just stupid... I mean, what about the people who never had a 360, but have a One, they see this old game for the 360 that they'd really like to play... With backwards compatibility they can just straight-up buy it, which'll be more money to the publishers. If they DON'T make their game backwards compatible then the person has to consider buying an old-generation console that no longer has the benefit of housing loads of games you can only play on it. I honestly think most publishers would say yes to having their titles be playable on the One

Some wouldn't. I'm repeating myself but when Activision goes public about saying no to Modern Warfare, it would only be to drive up demand and bank big when they sell it to us in a collection later. That's the only legit reason I can fathom.

Then you haven't played Arkham Knight and Whitcher 3.
MGSV and Fallout 4 are sure to make a case for this generation. That, and th fact that Microsoft said the 360 was a 10-year console, it's been 10 years, and Microsoft has all but abandoned the 360.

May I ask why you hate them so? I have yet to see a less than stellar game directly from Monika or Rocksteady so I'm genuine about my intrigue.

Fair enough. To each his own.
I'll only say that to anyone who has been previously turned off by the gameplay or story of MGS should really give MGSV a shot. I think if you put the first three MGS games next to MGSV for comparison, you would find it unrecognizable. Metal Gear has come a helluva long way in the last 28 years.
It's kind of hard to believe it's been that long. I mean has any main-series of games been so consistently good for that long besides Zelda?
