Cortana's pulls the ugliest face I have ever seen in the video thumbnail, it pretty well sums up the game It looks like she has just pushed out a fart and she is really happy about it!

Yeah she always changes and so did the chief. Artistic liberty was taken, but 343 changed everything to such an extent I am left to wonder if they didn't have the rights to the old models, or if they really wanted to make it their own thing. The only major changes (besides the hair) up until Halo 4 was that the graphics allowed them to make greater detailed models to further realize what was already there. It's in my review but I still HATE IT that there is no reason as to why Chief and Cortana look so different. Tell me it's written in a book somewhere. Where is it in the game??? There is no prize for being right about this, but time has lead me to believe this is the Halo release schedule. 2015 Halo 5 2016 Halo 5 GOTY Edition (They did this with Halo 4 as well. Halo Wars 2 will come out too.) 2017 Halo 3 Anniversary (Not because we want/need it but because it's expected.) 2018 Halo 6 2019 Halo 6 GOTY Edition (Doubt they would make ODST Anniversary.) 2020 Halo Reach Anniversary

You bring up an excellent point about Cortana although I think you just wanted to whine about SJW's. Cortana's always changed, and I don't mean just as Graphics have got better I mean she's slowly changed through the years. In CE she had short hair and was rather petit, Halo 2 her figure was more akin to a model, Halo 3 was interesting as she still had the sex appeal but she looked more mature and "realistic", dialing down the T and A. Halo 4 is probably the more interesting of the games in terms of cortana's appearance. Her breasts, her hips and the fact she's more curvy all indicate that 343 were going for a more maternal look for Cortana. The fact that they never went anywhere with that is a shame because they could have done something really interesting. Benefit of the doubt and I had to mention the SJW possibility. Cortana's redesign is the smallest problem the game has but when I realised that this might be a redesign because of SJW bullying I had to mention something, if I thought otherwise I wouldn't of brought up her redesign, maybe I would've questioned why she didn't look cooler but that would've been that.

Man, this game just came out today and the "Halo is dead" backlash has already started. As someone who doesn't own H5 and doesn't have any vested interest in it, I think y'all are being a bit harsh. IMO it's kinda cool that they make a villain out of a main character that's been with the series for over a decade. From what I've seen, the multiplayer also looks like quite the return to form. They got rid of the bullshit unlocks/progression system that hurt 4 and made it as arena-centric as the old games. Maybe it's not exactly the sort of game some Halo fans were looking for in the campaign department, but it's far from a failure from what I've seen. That's the problem you have no interest in it so you don't know what I mean or other fans that are disappointed by Halo 5. I didn't talk about the multiplayer because that wasn't what the video was about, it's all campaign/story because that's what Halo is to me and a lot of Halo fans grew up with these characters and we all hold them dear to our hearts. So when Halo 4 arrives and the gameplay is disappointing but the Story wins you over by the end you can forgive it. Halo 5 comes along and just throws in characters for the sake of it, changes characters for a plot twist and ruins the ending of Halo 4 which was a cracking good ending... That's why Halo is dead to me, 343 came in and just messed it all up. Plus the story feels unfinished and rushed making a crappy story even crappier and a lot of sequel bait and a crappy ending... I could go on. If people like the new story I think I would be jealous that they were able to enjoy it and just be glad someone was able to like it. I watched your video and I totally get why you're disappointed. You don't like the campaign nor the direction 343 took the story in. I'm not saying that you aren't allowed to be disappointed, just that it's hyperbole to say that Halo is dead. Maybe to you it is, but to those who actually enjoyed the story or put more stock in multiplayer, it most definitely isn't. I realize that you didn't touch on multiplayer, but I felt it was worth bringing up as it seems 343 got it right this time. I never said I have no interest in H5. I said I have no vested interest in it since I don't own the game. I'm no Halo purist looking to crucify 343 for their perceived mistakes nor am I a fanboy trying desperately to defend my $60 purchase (not saying you're either of those). I'm just a bystander with a passing interest in the series. In a lot of ways H5 seems like the sort of game many fans wanted. Maybe not to you, and that's totally fine. All I'm saying is that it's silly to throw the baby out with the bath water and declare H5 the game that killed this franchise.

Halo 2 and 3 is just better graphics, I think they made her a little more sexualised in 3 but I personally think the way she acts before Rampancy fits her Halo 3 look perfectly. Why Cortana looks like a different character in 4? No idea I know it was a different character designer but I don't know the reasoning, well I know they gave her a more human face to take advantage of better face capture technology as well as giving her a more human look to make it easier for people to emotionally connect with her. But the whole redesign I don't know. I don't even know if it's possible in the Halo universe for an AI to redesign themselves. Chief made no mention of her redesign so I guess this was just purely an artist thing. I think Cortana looks great in Halo 4 but I perfectly understand why some would hate the redesign. The fact that Halo 5 will probably get a GOTY version depresses me.

I can't remember my wording but I think I said it's dead to me which is a perfectly fine thing to say. A lot of people seem to be disappointed by the story and I saw one person who hated it more than me, I listed Locke and Buck as a positive whereas that person hated everything and he wasn't some sort of fanboy he was a reviewer that said this on a livestream. He loved the multiplayer and said it almost makes up for it but my video was just about the story and single player campaign. A lot of people will like the multiplayer in Halo 5 it's something different but I want it to go back to Halo 3. The amount of hours I put into Halo 3 is scary. But let's say I did like the Halo 5 multiplayer, I wouldn't be able to enjoy it knowing that I hated the story. Halo holds a special place in my gaming heart so to see what happened in the story it's just too much, it taints the whole experience. It's like a fighting game, I'm not going to spend time online if I hate the characters. Fair enough

I want to apologise if I came across annoyed or a dick in these comments. I'm really not a dick and I don't easily get annoyed with people online and I'm not annoyed with anyone here I like a good discussion and I'm glad we were able to talk about Halo 5. I'm quite stubborn when it comes to my own opinions so again I apologise if I came across as a dick. For the sake of my own sanity I'll try to break this down the way I see it. For 343, they made three big mistakes.
First mistake: Writing a story more related to the expanded universe than the previous game. A universe relatively unknown to most Halo players up to that point. Reach had some people digging alittle deeper into the lore, but that game still made sure it took place mostly in the previous games universe. That's not the reason it's a problem though. Artistic freedom and inspired story telling is stunted the more the artist needs to adhere to a pre-existing universe. They had the opportunity to take things in their own direction but instead they had expand on all the cryptic terminal stuff to slowly degrading the sense of mystery and wonder the Halo rings inspired.
This is why plays usually have two or three acts, and part 4s rarely seem necessary or as engaging. Time has told us the longer the story goes on, the more uninteresting and convoluted it becomes. Halo is outstaying it's welcome mostly because they are making more games to capitalize on the name and in-turn retroactively chipping away at the existing universe integrity. There are no more stories to tell so they gotta make new ones, and under a different name, that could work.
Second mistake: Building the game on the Reach engine instead trying to better match the gameplay of Halo 3. On that, the universe used the Mark VI upgrade in Halo 2 to explain the changes in gameplay. We have no explanation as to why the Mark VI abilities had been changes so much in Halo 4. I know they had to crank out another title while the Halo brand was still culturally relevant but recycling the Reach engine, it's theater, it's forge, but NOT it's Firefight calls for a huge WTF! Spartan Ops sucks in comparison to Reachs Firefight and anyone who says different should really be more into Call of Duty, because that level of linearity is in the same vein.
Third mistake: Making core gameplay changes based on what competing shooters are doing. I'm not that stubborn. Going back and playing the older games, they could all benefit from a sprint mechanic, but that's really all Halo needed to not feel old, and still maintain it's unique style. Now the gameplay is all but COD: Advance Warfare. Bring on the boost jumping and wall running!
Real Talk: We are repeating ourselves at this point but I love talking to everyone about this. I don't fully blame 343 for how disappointing the post-Reach games are. It's very important that we keep talking to better understand the what, why, and how.
For what it's worth, I love Halo, I love FPS, I love video games!

It's not very good but when you find out Locke is heading to Installation 04 it's exciting and just knowing what it is and it's history and the thought that there's something still on the Halo ring that the Covenant want... It's just a testament to how good Halo can be when it stays simple obviously Nightfalls budget ruined it but we can imagine how much better it would've been with more money and some small changes. I can't wait for the amount of confused people ask questions about a lot of stuff in Halo 5, already I see a lot of people call the Guardians Forerunner but they are were around before the forerunners. Anyway this was a nice Halo chat.

I personally think this was one of the best Halo campaigns. Sure, the plot itself is not very entertaining and could have been much differently. I was looking forward to a more angry chief, someone who lashes out and pretty much says "forget the UNSC." In that regard, I was let down with how the plot takes us to "go chase down Cortana, go chase down Chief, go rescue so and so." You captured what I was feeling about the other squad members, that Buck is passable and Locke is pretty good while the rest are all boring. I was also fond of Exuberant Witness. But I disagree with your assessment on the Arbiter, he is anything but boring. The first time you meet him he is in the middle of a sword battle, and the entire time he is on screen/on Sanghelios he is nothing less than a badass. I was hoping for more Locke/Arbiter action, but oh well. Not to mention that the characters 343 introduces - Roland, Laskey, Palmer - all get pushed aside. I'm curious why Roland did not side with Cortana. Will there be an explanation? Probably not. So on the whole, the plot and character development lack in many ways.
But I still think this was one of the best campaign experiences of my halo history. You said it was short, but I disagree with that. It took me about 9 hours solo on legendary, which was longer than any of the other games. Plus, although your gameplay footage all comes from Normal difficulty, Legendary was extremely difficult. While you make the argument that there aren't any great visual shots, a few actually come to mind. The first time we land on Genesis is pretty neat, when Exuberant Witness saves Fireteam Osiris from the Knights in the last mission and you are given a few moments to look around is pretty great, the first time we witness a Guardian coming up is nice, and there are a few others I could name. What makes this campaign stand out to me is how expansive the levels are though. Sure, it's riddled with hallway after hallway of enemies. But wasn't every Halo game? This was more reminiscent to Halo CE's design in my opinion, ammo is scarce for anything other than Suppressors/Boltshots, and finding alternate paths was often rewarding and very satisfying. There are also 117 recordings to find, which some are in pretty out of the way places.
My final opinion is that Halo 5 has the weakest story of any of the games by far. They missed a great opportunity for some character development on Chief/Locke that feels not utilized to the best potential. But there are some great design choices. Admittedly the Warden fights got old after the third one, but I have to also say that the very first fight was very hyped and worth it. The first time you beat him and he turns into a black hole and vanishes is rewarding. And that's what the overall feeling I get from this game is - I feel rewarded by the level design and there are some breathtaking shots along the way. It really sucks that the plot was disappointing, but the design and direction of the actual campaign play style was, in my opinion, the most memorable of the series.
Bonus points for that Locke and Chief fight.

Bonus points for that Locke and Chief fight. I don't feel like giving a full response no offence to you It's just I have the video and a bunch of other comments that can be read and I'll just be repeating myself but you mentioned some points I want to talk about. The Arbiter - All we get is hints at background between him and Locke and then we find out he ordered a hit on Arbiter, it felt like a tease that should've been explored in this game. Also when we first meet him that would've made an epic cutscene instead we get an in game animation which was decent but we're talking about The Arbiter when we first see him it should've been awe inspiring. Roland - I was confused by this however Roland did say he can fly the infinity on his own which if I remember correctly is something a typical AI can't do plus there is also multiple copies of himself so it's possible Roland did rebel but the Roland we saw didn't. The Fight with Locke - Chief is a Spartan 2 and is 7ft 2", Locke is a Spartan 4 which is basically a 6ft Captan America man in armour. Chief would've picked him up and ripped him in half, which brings me onto why is every single Spartan massive? Only Chief and Blue team should be massive. Halo 4 had this Issue with Chief changing sizes in different cutscenes. The fight was well choreographed but it goes against everything in the lore. Exuberant was alright I personally didn't see enough for me to make a judgement. And for visual spectacle when you are on the side of one of The Guardians that is really cool and reminded me of the escape driving missions in past Halo games. Oh the Warden, I wish I could've made a longer video I didn't like him, visually he was fine but gameplay and character was boring. First time I fought him I had an incineration launcher and Killed him before he was able to reach me, that was such a bad first impression. I've seen some videos of this game on Legendary is it as hard as what people say it is? Apparently the final Warden fight is hair pulling difficult.

I agree with you on the Chief vs. Locke thing. Spartan IIs were built to compete hand to hand with the biggest and best Elites. Look at Jorge in Reach. He's huge compared to them.
