Permanently on Kinect could work to our advantage. "I think I'll play on CoD" "I'm sorry Dave. I can't let you do that"

Permanently on Wii60 could work to our advantage. "I think I'll play on CoD" "I'm sorry Dave. I can't let you do that" Can it read lips?

The worst is that it detects the number of people in a room while watching a movie, and makes you pay extra for more people to watch then the amount allowed the makers of the movie set.

Is there a feature on the XBOne where you can bend over in front of the camera and Microsoft can physically rape you or can they only financially rape you?

Although I agree that the new Kinect is just generally a bad idea, this article is textbook fear mongering. Sure visual DRM, an always-on microphone, and forced advertisements tailored to what you're wearing are intrusive, but here's the thing: you don't have to buy it. In 1984 these sorts of devices were everywhere and forced upon the people without consent. The Xbox One is a completely optional device, and there's no evidence to suggest that it's "always listening" as the article claims.
Don't get me wrong I'm not here to defend MS. I definitely won't be purchasing one of these consoles, but not because of all of this 'Big Brother' Kinect crap. The always-online requirement, the draconian used-games policy, and the fact that it's just a dumbed down PC are the deal breakers.
Ultimately, if you don't like what the Xbone has to offer (as a gamer you shouldn't), vote with your wallet. Don't buy this glorified DRM machine, but not because of some irrational, Orwellian fear. Don't buy it because it's bad for the gaming industry.

Don't buy it because it's bad for the gaming industry. The main criticism I have with it, is not the device itself, but what it will lead to, with possibly tv's and computers having the same things such as facial recognition, and two-way "mirrors" in a sense that they could monitor your every keystroke not through a system of key logging, but rather through actually watching you as you type. The US government just admitted to illegally wiretapping ordinary US citizens and international citizens, (which includes the UK) without our consent or probable cause. We live in an age of fear, where our governments promise us safety in exchange for our freedoms. It's scary to imagine what the future holds for us. As soon as I finish High School and College, I'm getting the hell out of the country. Think I'll elope down to Cuba and live out my days drinking Pina Coladas.
