ThAt's arguable for sure but I'm still not liking the fact that Sutherland was cast. Nothing against him as an actor. I'm sure he'll do a good job, I just wish more no-names were in video games. It's a testament to how mainstream gaming has become. #ThanksCOD

No argument there. I know I could beat a dead horse into the ground with this so I'll just let it go with this...
I would like to see a game in a popular series where most people working on it actually like the series and play the games. A game where creating it wasn't just a job, but a dream job. Kind of the way the latest Star Trek and now Star Wars films are being made by people who grew up watching and loving the universe. Something like if a developer of a highly regarded, popular franchise was building a dev team from the ground up and you had to take a test to prove you were passionate about the product as well as skilled at your craft.
Sutherland said himself that he's "not a gamer" and he was only "aware of the success of these games" when he came and did his voice acting for MGS. I'm sure he will do a great job. He's a fine actor and I trust Kojima with whats essentially the swan song of the story he's dedicated the last 27 years of his life to. Sutherland did a game based on 24 and Call of Duty: World at War in the past. He wasn't too stand-out in COD but the focus was never really on him and i never played 24. Kojima said he picked Sutherland for his age, look, and voice. Of course acting talent was a must as well so I'm not worried that about his delivery.
I just can't help but wonder if someone who has played the games, and has an idea of what the character has gone through emotionally, as well as physically could deliver an even better performance. I suppose that's what character descriptions in the scripts are for but video games present such a unique opportunity for an actor to step into the shoes of an established character and live said characters adventures up to that point. In some ways, many of us are more qualified than him. Not necessarily in the skill of acting, but in the "homework" we've done by being this character in past MGS games.
P.S. We're looking forward to Sutherland's return in COD: World at War II this November. Right?

Well it's heavily rumored that the series is returning to WWII. That's the best thing for it (other than dieting) as I have no clue where they can go from here. Well, besides another near-future sci-fi or historic Vietnam special forces story laden with conspiracy theory. Yeah, that series should die.

Blade Runner 07 What's the red bionic arm Snake has? Does he lose one of his arms during the course of the game or something? Back on topic and to address this again, I won't answer that but check out this vid! So play Ground Zeros to get the answer and better appreciate the only slightly creepy prosthetic arm you can get when you get the collectors edition of The Phantom Pain.

Blade Runner 07I was a bit pissed in the Kojima interview when he was naming all the games in the MG/MGS series. He forgot to mention Portable Ops, and both AC!D games. How could he forget Portable Ops though? That was an extremely fun game to play with a crucial backstory to how Snake gets the Philosopher's Legacy to create Outer Heaven, with some hints on Snake's future dilemmas with the 3 clones. And it was much better than Peace Walker. Plus, the comic book style cutscenes were the best. Here's an example to one of the best songs ever in an MGS game.

Well he didn't write or design those games. He only produced them so they were not really his babies and to him, probably don't count as canon. His official canon includes: In order of release: Metal Gear Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake Metal Gear Solid Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeros Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

The idea of capturing enemy soldiers to turn them to your side.

Fallout 4 looks "disgusting", and Metal Gear V looks "scary"? What are you saying?

This is looking good. Possibly the best game of 2015, and best in the series. A neat little feature not mentioned in this preview, you can unlock licensed songs, and have your helicopter play them during picks ups and drop offs. Songs from artists of the period like Kim Wild and Joy Division. Very cool.
