Pretty harsh, but this is the world we live in now. We cant afford to spend money in faith, I am sure you could agree with that Blade Runner?

Yes, my point was that it is clearly logical to wait until their killer apps arrive before buying the console.

My point. Listen to what they say in the demo about convention and change. That makes me hopeful for this Zelda. If it's another skyward sword... the Wii U is dead. Short of a couple solid but extremely conventional titles. The Wii U future rests solely on Nintendo's ability to produce that GOTY.
I won't buy a Wii U until that happens, but completely writing off a Nintendo console has been done by the foolish before. The Wii only had a handful of great titles but they were great. Considering the apparent lame duck the Wii U has been thus far, it takes balls for Nintendo to stay the course instead of jump ship and announce that rumored new console. That gives me hope. Wii U is my last choice for a new console, but since E3 it's on my radar and will stay there until Zelda Wii U releases and we see either redemption or complete failure.

Gotta be honest, I hate Links new cloths. I LOVE the throwback to Ocarina of Time with the HUD though.

I wonder if it's gonna be like Wind Waker where you start out in a casual outfit, then get the hero's clothes, but if you complete the game and start again you can play through the whole game in your casual clothes...

Seriously though. We are getting to the point that Link should have several optional outfits. At least wearable in a New Game Plus. Maybe make it like Resident Evil where you can go change the outfit early in the game. The green tunic is iconic but there is a point where you can only do so many takes and variations before the long hat and white tights becomes silly and redundant.

I could see that argument holding water, but I'll counterpoint with this: The green tunic is part of his identity. Is it really link anymore without it?
That's like saying Mario shouldn't wear the red cap and overalls and instead should wear a white undershirt and pants that are way too revealing in the rear.
He can't. Mario will always wear the red cap and overalls, and link will always wear the green tunic because it's part of who their characters are.

I agree that it's part of Links identity as much as Batmans cowl, Assassin's Creed hood, Spider-mans tights, etc.
All these characters operate once and awhile, without said attire. I would love the option to unlock some costumes that make them look a bit more normal. Nintendo has proven that with Links pre-hero cloths being wearable in new games plus that they are willing to play around with that.
I wouldnt mind seeing a hatless mario or one with a brown undershirt and red overalls. Something different to look at ya knowd.

I'm hoping for a lot of surprises. Voice-over for every NPC, more costumes, female link, etc. It wouldn't break the game and at this point traditionalism is the worst thing for Zelda... well maybe not... screwing with expectations might be worse.
The formula hasn't changed since OOT, and games like Skyrim have come to show what happens when an open world fantasy use the technology at its disposal.
